Yesterday we took a day off before the Christmas madness starts and did another board game afternoon/evening with our visiting friend from Japan.
The first game we played was the colossal Mage Knight, where we expected a playing time of about 4-5 hours, while in reality it took almost 9 hours to finish this "short" scenario.
After that we played the "funny" disc flipping game Catacombs, where our friend managed to demonstrate his talent - and my failure to do the right thing in one single game.
The conclusion of the day was the gift we received from him - Imperial Settlers. This game is quite nice, as it plays quickly and has an interesting theme to it - so I'm thrilled to play it again soon.

Gestern haben wir uns vom Weihnachtstrubel frei genommen und noch einmal einen ordentlichen Brettspielnachmittag und -abend mit unserem japanischen Freund verbracht.
Gespielt wurde zunächst das kolossale Mage Knight, wobei wir hier mit einer Spielzeit von 4-5 Stunden gerechnet hatten und nicht die dann fast 9 Stunden die es wirklich gedauert hatte.
Danach haben wir das "lustige" Scheiben-Schnipp-Spiel Catacombs gespielt, wo unser japanischer Gast sein Können - und mein Versagen - unter Beweis stellen konnte.
Zum Abschluss haben wir dann das uns als Geschenk dargebrachte Imperial Settlers ausprobiert. Das spielt sich relativ schnell und hat ein interessantes Spielprinzip. Da bin ich schon auf die nächste Partie gespannt.
