The monday-cinema-evening brought us the second part with Chris Hemsworth's Huntsman: The Huntsman - Winter's War.
The story begins - as it is appropriate for a fairy tale - with events that have happened. So first we are reminded of the events in Slnow White and the Huntsman. After that we are told that the Evil Queen has a history before that film as well, including a sister, who became the Ice Queen due to drastic happenings. For this time on she is also evil and rules her kingdom with brutality, including kidnapping the children and training them to be her army, including the well known Huntsman Eric.
After Eric fell in love with a fellow huntswoman, and since the Ice Queen forbids love, the two are separated and think that the other has gone for good. At this time the mentioned other film takes place and we get to see how it continues. The Evil Queen isn't completely gone and a part of her lives on in her mirror, which the Ice Queen secures in her castle. So the conclusion of the film is of course a fight of Eric and his fellow huntsman to finally bring down evil once and for all.
Although I slept through half of the movie, I think I managed to grab the story quite well. Which means that there isn't much story to grab to begin with. But this was quite obvious before we even started watching the film. The good thing about this movie is though that the female sidekick to Eric (Chris Hemsworth) has more than one facial expression. Still the movie is very light entertainment and certainly something you can watch at home.
Conclusion: action? yes, story? present, fun? hmmm.
