Film Review: Doctor Strange

Yesterday we went to the movies again after quite some time, for the latest Marvel adventure: Doctor Strange

The egocentric neurosurgeon Stephen Strange - sorry, Doctor Stephen Strange - has a quite serious car accident and almost loses his life in the process. But instead of being grateful to still be alive he starts to put things in motion to get his old surgeon life back, but his hands have taken too much damage in the accident. So he sets out to find some other way of healing in Tibet, but he finds so much more and realizes that there's a whole other world out there as well.

It's a rather nice character introduction movie from the Marvel universe and Doctor Strange is a quite interesting and funny kind of guy. Benedict Cumberbatch plays this very, very well and you could almost say that this character was made for him like Iron Man for Robert Downey Jr.

Although some scenes look like the audience or the director were having a LSD trip, it all works together very well and you almost think it to be some kind of real thing.

Conclusion: a very, very good Marvel movie, which gives me hope for future movies with the Doctor (not THE Doctor, another one, which seems kind of strange)
