Yesterday was the second day of 2016 where I went to bed relaxed - in the hope that the general public will do the right thing - only to wake up to another disaster.
First there was Brexit this year. You go to sleep and think "the Brits won't do something stupid and leave the EU", but they've done it.
Yesterday it was the the Americans turn - you think "they won't vote an idiot their new president" but they did. So the next turn is for the Austrian people to vote Norbert Hofer their new president and the whole world will call us a Nazi-state. Well, the problem is a disgruntled mass of people who want to teach the high and mighty a lesson, but don't understand the consequences of their actions and won't have them either. That's democracy for you!
But enough of political stuff, let's go back to something trivial. Yesterday after work I was at the post office and wanted to collect our absentee ballots. Although they were sent by registerted mail, the responsible post office wasn't able to find them. Well done Austrian Postal Service - you are now offically back leading my personal top 10 of disgust!
When I came back home again, it finally was business as usual: cat entertainment, playing computer games and watching some tv series.
