Film review: Kingsman

After some time and some illness we went to the cinema again yesterday to watch the most recent spy movie: Kingsman

The Kingsmen are an internation operating organisation, that doesn't answer to any government. They are gentleman agent, who try to keep world peace but do so in secret, so that the world doesn't know it was in danger. Galahad (Colin Firth) is one of them and has the difficult task to find a replacement for a recently deceases colleague, who died on a job.

His choice is the son of a former Kingsman recruit, who saved his life many years ago but at the cost of his own. So Galahad feels compelled to help his son to become a Kingsman as well. But that's not all, since there's also evil in the world in the form of billionare Richmond Valentine (Samuel L. Jackson), who tried his own approach at "healing" the planet.

The movie is well made and quite quickly cut. But unlike other movies of the action genre the audience can actually follow the action in those shots and is well entertained. But the film isn't for the weak of heart, since there's a lot of blood flowing and detached body parts fyling around, so much in fact that the main evil guy is going to be sick at watching them.

The humour of the film is refreshingly british and perfectly executed. Every agent cliché you can think of is in this film and it's fitting. For me this is a must-see movie.
