Gaming for relax purposes

This sunday we relaxed - a lot. First I played some No Man's Sky while listening to two episodes of the Miskatonic University Podcast.

Later in the afternoon we played two boardgames. First up was Magic: The Gathering – Arena of the Planeswalkers. The game con be compared to HeroScape and is also compatible with that game. The feel of Magic is not very present, it's more like a tabletop game where the generals are personalities from the Magic universe.

Then we went to scotland and played Glen More. Here each player has to build his village and it's done via a quite clever mechanic. You can choose any tile to build when it's your turn, but picking later tiles means that the other players have more turns to build their stuff..

In the evening we just went onto the couch and watched to episodes of Elementary.

Am Sonntag haben wir uns ausgeruht. Ich habe zunächst No Man's Sky gespielt und mir dabei zwei Folgen vom Miskatonic University Podcast angehört.

Später am Nachmittag haben wir dann zwei Brettspiele ausprobiert. Zunächst stand Magic: The Gathering – Arena of the Planeswalkers am Plan. Das Spiel ist an HeroScape angelehnt und auch damit kompatibel. Das Magic Feeling kommt dabei nicht so rüher, es ist mehr ein Tabletop Spiel, in dem die Generäle halt Figuren aus dem Magic Universum sind.

Danach sind wir nach Schottland gefahren und haben Glen More gespielt. Hier muss man sein Dorf aufbauen und das geht recht clever über eine Mechanik, mit der man durch seinen Zug indirekt vorgibt, wann man wieder dran kommt. Sprich wenn man etwas bauen will, was weiter vorne in der Queue ist, dann kommen die Gegner dazwischen öfter dran und können mehr/andere Dinge bauen.

Am Abend dann ging es auf die Couch und wir haben uns wieder zwei Folgen Elementary angeschaut.

A false monday

Yesterday after work I went to my parents's for dinner and I got some tasty Gundel-pancakes.

Then I went home and to our vet to buy Gandalf's medicine. A quick grocery shopping trip after that and then writing the blog entries from the weekend.

The conclusion of the day was a session of No Man's Sky.

Gestern war ich nach der Arbeit bei meinen Eltern zum Abendessen und es gab köstliche Gundel-Palatschinken.

Danach bin ich nach Hause gefahren und dann zur Tierärztin um die Tabletten für den Kater. Dann noch schnell einkaufen und Blogs vom Wochenende nachschreiben.

Der Abschluss des Tages war dann noch eine Session No Man's Sky.

Friday with a hint of doubt

This friday after work I went to Mariahilf. My first stop was the urban administration where I requested an identity card. After that I went to Planet Harry where one new game found it's way into my bag.

After that I went to Temaya to get sushi for the hungry cats and humans. Back home we all enjoyed the nice fish.

In the evening I finally decided to buy No Man's Sky, since the night before I was dreaming about it and for the whole day I had an angel and a devil sitting on my shoulders telling my to buy/not to buy the game.

After several hours of play I have to say that I really like the game and I made the right choice.

Am Freitag war ich nach der Arbeit in Mariahilf unterwegs. Zunächst war ich beim Bezirksamt um mir einen Personalausweis einzureichen. Danach ging es dann zum Planet Harry wo sich ein neues Spiel in mein Einkaufssackerl verirrt hat.

Dann ging es weiter zum Temaya wo Sushi für die hungrigen Katzen und Menschen eingekauft wurden. Wieder zuhause angekommen haben wir dann alle die Sushi gegessen.

Am Abend schließlich habe ich mich doch dazu entschlossen No Man's Sky zu kaufen, nachdem ich die Nacht davor davon geträumt hatte und ich seitdem ein Engerl und ein Teuferl auf den Schultern sitzen hatte, die mir zum Spiel geraten bzw. vom Spiel abgeraten hatten.

Schlussendlich, nach ein paar Stunden spielen, muss ich sagen dass mir das Spiel gut gefällt und ich die richtige Wahl getroffen hatte.

No Joerg's Game

Yesterday after work I went quickly to the post office and did some grocery shopping afterwards. The cats at home also wanted to be entertained - due to the colder weather they were quite active again - and I looked through the list of boardgames we were not quite happy with, to which my dear added the BoardGameGeek score and how much they sell at the moment. So I guess there will be some of our games on the market rather soon.

Then I researched the latest gaming-hype No Man's Sky, which sounded like a nice game for me. But I fear he rather stressful managing of resources all the time and the resulting survival factor make this game a no-go for me, so I guess I'll pass on this hype.

In the eveninig we watched two episodes of Elementary before it was time for bed, since today will be quite a hard day at work...

Gestern nach der Arbeit war ich noch schnell zur Post unterwegs und dann kurz einkaufen. Die Katzen wollten dann zuhause auch bespasst werden - wegen dem kühleren Wetter waren sie wieder sehr aktiv - und ich habe mir ein wenig die Liste unserer nicht so geliebten Spiele angesehen, die mein Schatz im Laufe des Tages mit BoardGameGeek Bewertungen und Verkaufspreisen versehen hatte. Ich denke da wird in nächster Zeit einiges auf den Markt geworfen werden.

Weiters habe ich mich dann noch über den aktuellsten Spiel-Hype No Man's Sky informiert, einem potentiell interessanten Spiel für mich. Allerdings fürchte ich, dass der recht stressige Survival Faktor für mich zu groß ist - man muss immer schauen, dass man genug Ressourcen für seinen Raumanzug und Werkzeuge hat - sodass ich mir dieses Spiel nicht in absehbarer Zeit zulegen werde.

Am Abend dann haben wir uns noch zwei Episoden Elementary angesehen bevor es ins Bett ging, denn heute wird ein anstrengender Tag in der Arbeit...
