Yesterday it was time to go the movies and we watched the current James Bond - Spectre.
James Bond is back in action! Although after his last vacation he has been suspended. A lead from this vacation brings out a dark secret, which seems also connected to his own past. And it all comes down to the secret organisation named Spectre, which a guy named Franz Oberhauser as their leader.
To reveal more story would be spoiling , but the audience gets some more obviously. And although this is a James Bond movie with Daniel Craig - from the reboot point of view - there are many elements and objects that are directly connected to the original movies. It's debatable if this is a good thing, but at least the story is well done.
Crazy car chases through Rome, crashing planes in the Austrian alps and a final showdown at the evil mastermind's lair - these are the classical ingredients for a James Bond movie and still you hunger for more while watching the film. Especially since the previous movies tried to break the cliche and bring Bond to the 21st century.
Conclusion: although well done - and for my taste not too long - this movie leave the audience with a kind of emptiness that wants to be filled with more - more story, more background and especially more Christoph Waltz. I liked the film a lot, but still the predecessor - with all it's errors - is my favorite new Bond movie. I finally liked the new concept and going back from there is not easy for me.

Doch eine Spur führt ihn auf ein dunkles Geheimnis, das auch noch mit seiner eigenen Vergangenheit verstrickt zu sein scheint. Alles läuft auf die geheime Organisation namens Spectre hinaus und ihren dubiosen Anführer Franz Oberhauser.
Mehr zu verraten wäre dann schon zuviel gespoilert, aber die Zuschauer kommen auf ihren Kosten. Und obwohl es ein James Bond Film mit Daniel Craig ist - also eigentlich vom neuen Reboot - findet man viele Elemente und Dinge wieder, die man von den ursprünglichen Filmen gewohnt war. Ob dies dem Film gut tut oder nicht sei dahingestellt, die Story hingegen ist durchaus gelungen.
Wilde Autoverfolgungsjagden durch Rom, abstürzende Flugzeuge in den österreichischen Alpen und ein Showdown in der Höhle des Löwen - all das sind die klassischen Zutaten für einen Bond Film und trotzdem hat man das Gefühl mehr haben wollen. Haben die vorangegangenen Film doch versucht das Klischee zu durchbrechen und James Bond ins 21. Jahrhundert zu bringen.
Fazit: obwohl er gut gelungen ist - und mir auch nicht zu langatmig erschienen ist - hinterlässt der Film den Zuschauer doch mit einer gewissen Leere, die zu fragen scheint, ob dies nun wirklich alles gewesen ist. Für mich war der Film ok, mir hat der Vorgänger - trotz inhaltlicher Fehler - besser gefallen. Ich habe mich eigentlich schon an das neue James Bond Konzept gewöhnt und tue mir mit dem Rückschritt etwas schwer.
