Prague - day 4

It was the last day of our vacation in Prague and before we went home again in the afternoon we went shopping in the city one last time.

At 15:30 our bus was supposed to take us back home. Although we were on time, our driver was not, but in the end we managed to get back home just fine after another 4 hours drive.

Back home we were greeted by some poor cats, who sounded like they hadn't eaten in four days. Which wasn't true of course since my parents fed and played with them regularly - a big thank you again for that here as well!!!

After the got their food and have been played with we finally were also allowed to eat. Then we just sat on the couch and watched the latest episode of Once Upon a Time and an old one of Top Gear before finally falling into our beds.

Es war der letzte Tag in Prag bevor wir am Nachmittag nach Hause gefahren sind. Wir waren noch ein letztes Mal in der Stadt unterwegs und haben noch einmal eingekauft.

Um 15:30 ist dann unser Bus nach Wien gefahren und wir waren rechtzeitig dort - nur der Fahrer hat gefehlt. Aber nach einiger Zeit kam er dann auch und es ging los - zu weitern 4 Stunden Fahrt.

Wieder ganz zuhause wurden wir von weinerlichen Katzen empfangen. Doch es war nicht so schlimm wie sie getan haben, denn meine Eltern haben sich vorbildlich um sie gekümmert - vielen Dank nochmal an der Stelle dafür!!

Nach einer Portion Futter und spielen durften wir auch unser Abendessen zu uns nehmen und dann sind wir nur mehr auf die Couch gefallen und haben uns die aktuelle Folge von Once Upon a Time und eine alte Folge Top Gear angeschaut bevor wir ins Bett gefallen sind.

Prague - day 3

Yesterday, after breakfast, we first went to a special effects museum in Prague. We were shown the tricks and effects from the 60s und 70s movies and we able to try out some of them as well.

Afterwards we went into the city to shop some more and to look at the houses. We also went to the advent markts as well, without too many people and still in daylight.

We had dinner in our hotel and afterwards went out one more time to the city. Some time later we felt not so well, probably because of some of the food we had for dinner, and we returned to our hotel room where we flatulently spent the evening. Because of that I gave myself the nickname fart-zombie of Prague.

Gestern waren wir nach dem Frühstück zunächst im Special Effects Museum von Prag. Dort wurden die Trickfilm-Effekte der 60er und 70er Jahre vorgestellt und teilweise zum Ausprobieren zur Verfügung gestellt.

Danach ging es in die Stadt zum Shoppen bzw. zum Häuser anschauen. Auch die Weihnachtsmärkte wurden wieder abgeklappert, allerdings bei Tageslicht und ohne extreme Massen von Touristen.

Das Nachtmahl haben wir in unserem Hotel eingenommen und sind danach noch einmal zum spazieren gehen in die Stadt gefahren. Irgendetwas war allerdings mit den Essen, sodass wir dann bald wieder im Zimmer waren und uns am Abend nur mehr blähend durch das Zimmer bewegt haben. Mein (eigener) Spitzname dazu: der Furz-Zombie von Prag.

Prague - day 2

On our second - well first full - day in Prague we came around quite a bit. But first we had a good breakfast before we went up to the castle and then - with mild rain - we went slowly downhill from there.

Afterwards we went to a typical czech restaurant for lunch and the we went on into the city for some shopping.

After we stored our things in the hotel room we went out for dinner to a local burger restaurant, which was directly from the tourist guide. Afterwards we strolled through the Prague nightline - incl. the advent markets.

In the evening back at our hotel room we were able to watch the latest episodes of Constantine and Forever - thanks to a HDMI cable and the notebook with WiFi.

An unserem zweiten - eigentlich ersten vollen - Tag in Prag waren wir viel unterwegs. Zunächst sind wir nach einem guten Frühstück zum Schloss gefahren und im leichten Regen dann den Berg schön langsam wieder hinunter gegangen.

Danach sind wir in einem typischen tschechischen Lokal zum Mittagessen geblieben und danach ging es dann weiter durch die Stadt, ein wenig shoppen.

Nachdem wir unsere Sachen im Zimmer verstaut hatten, sind wir am Abend noch in ein Burgerlokal gegangen, quasi ein Geheimtipp aus dem Reiseführer. Anschließend sind wir noch durch das nächtliche Prag - inkl. Adventmärkte - spazieren gegangen.

Am Abend dann sind wir im Zimmer noch - dank HDMI-Kabel und Notebook mit WiFi - zu den aktuellen Folgen von Constantine und Forever zum schauen gekommen bevor wir umgekippt sind.

Prague - day 1

Yesterday was a short day at work, because around noon we went on a bus tour for a short vacation to Prague. Die duration of the tour was more than 4 hours and somehow exhausting, but "fortunately" there were enough other passenger groups that decided the loud talk and laughter would be a good way to compensate for that.

Once we arrived in Prague we wen to our hotel - Mosaic House. This accommodation was once again found by my dear and once again she found the perfect place.

In the evening we went on for dinner at Hard Rock Cafe. The smaller alleyways make it easy to lose yourself in the inner city and so we managed to find two advent markets before we finally arrived at our destination. There we had a big burger each, a cocktail and a shared dessert in the end.

On our way back to the hotel we found yet more advent markets and I know what I will be shooting in the coming days. Back at the hotel I just fell into bed while my dear was hatching the plan for today's places and sights we will be visiting.

One more thing we learned in Prague so far: the length and the speed of the escalators (at the metro stations) is directly proportional - the longer they are the fast they go. I dread the moment we find a longer one than we already have ...

Gestern war nur kurz in der Arbeit und wir sind dann gegen Mittag mit dem Bus zu einem Kurzurlaub Richtung Prag aufgebrochen. Die Fahrtdauer war mit mehr als 4 Stunden zwar etwas mühsam, aber "zum Glück" gab es genug Gruppen von Leuten, die gemeint haben das Gespräche und Gelächter die Fahrt erträglicher machen würden.

In Prag angekommen sind haben wir uns auf den Weg in unsere Unterkunft - das Mosaic House - gemacht. Diese Unterkunft hat wieder mein Schatz ausgesucht und es war wieder eine Superwahl - sie hat einfach ein Händchen dafür perfekte Unterkünfte zu finden.

Am Abend haben wir uns dann auf den Weg zum Abendessen ins Hard Rock Cafe gemacht. Die kleinen Gässchen und Gassen sind leider perfekt darin, dass man sich hier verläuft und so sind wir zunächst falsch gegangen, haben dadurch aber gleich zwei Adventmärkte gefunden. Schon etwas hungrig sind wir dann aber schlussendlich doch noch angekommen und haben jeder einen großen Burger und anschließend eine Nachspeise und einen Cocktail verdrückt.

Am Rückweg zur Unterkunft haben wir dann noch ein paar Weihnachtsmärkte besucht und ich weiß jetzt schon, was ich die kommenden Tage fotografieren werde. Zurück in der Unterkunft bin ich nur noch ins Bett gekippt, während mein Schatz den Plan für den heutigen Tag gemacht hat.

Ach ja, eins haben wir auch schon gelernt: in Prag ist die Länge der Rolltreppen (bei den U-Bahnen) direkt proportional der Geschwindigkeit - spich lange Rolltreppen fahren schneller als kurze. Ich hab schon Angst, falls wir einmal eine wirklich lange Rolltreppe finden sollten ...
