Boardgaming all day long

This saturday we had a boardgaming day with dear friends.

We started with some Roll for the Galaxy, where my people loved settling and not much else including trading - which didn't go well with their leader.

Next we played Straw, where the poor camel was overloaded three times with the eponymous item.

After that we played Stich-Meister and had a lot of rather strange rule combinations.

Afterwards we went to tile laying with Azul and we once again had a blast.

Next up were crabs and lots of them with You've Got Crabs, where you play in teams of two and try to collect crabs of the same type and then silently communicate to your partner that you have a complete set. But if the other team get that secret signal they can intervene and get the point themselves.

After a nice dinner with steak we then played a few games of Codenames - the 18+ variant.

The conclusion of the day was that we went to the casinos of Las Vegas.

Am Samstag war wieder großer Brettspieltag mit Freunden angesagt.

Begonnen haben wir mit Roll for the Galaxy, wo meine Leute lieber friedlich siedeln als handeln wollten - sehr zum Missfallen ihres Anführers.

Danach gab es eine Partie Straw und das arme Kamel wurde gleich dreimal mit dem namens gebenden Halm überladen.

Anschliessend haben wir Stich-Meister gespielt und es sind wieder ein paar wilde Regelkombinationen zustande gekommen.

Weiter ging es mit Azul, zu dem man nicht mehr sagen muss als dass es ein sehr gutes Spiel ist.

Als nächstes standen Krabben auf dem Speiseplan bei You've Got Crabs, wo man teamweise gleiche Krabben sammeln muss und sich dann geheim darüber verständigt, doch Achtung die Gegner schauen mit und wenn sie das geheime Zeichen schneller als der Temakollege erkennen gibt es Punkteabzug.

Nach einem guten Steak Nachtmahl haben wir dann ein paar Runden Codenames - und zwar in der 18+ Version - gespielt.

Zum Abschluss des Tages ging es dann noch ins Kasino von Las Vegas.

Massive boardgaming

This friday we had our monthly bread and circuses at work and we played Anno Domini: VIP twice and one game of Roll for the Galaxy. After that I went back home where my dearie already prepared for their Massive Darkness campaign, while I went to relax and take a nap.

Am Freitag hatten wir wieder Brot und Spiele in der Arbeit. Gespielt haben wir zweimal Anno Domini: VIP und einmal Roll for the Galaxy. Danach ging es nach Hause, wo mein Schatz schon für den Brettspielabend aufgebaut hatte. Sie hat mit Freunden ihre Kampagne von Massive Darkness weitergespielt, während ich mich ausgeruht habe.

Boardgaming

This sunday we had to do our chores and then we went to Alte Donau to retrieve our supply of drinks before the winter comes.

In the afternoon we went to dear friends for a boardgame afternoon. There we played Arboretum, Roll for the Galaxy and Lichterfest.

Back home again the cats wanted to be the center of attention and so we fed them and entertained them before we were allowed to go to bed.

Am Sonntag stand die Hausarbeit an und dann sind wir noch auf die Alte Donau gefahren und haben unsere Getränkevorräte vor dem Winter abgeholt.

Am Nachmittag sind wir dann zu lieben Freunden zu einem Brettspielnachmittag eingeladen worden. Dort haben wir dann Arboretum, Roll for the Galaxy und Lichterfest gespielt.

Wieder zuhause angekommen sind wir dann von den Katzen überfallen worden und nachdem wir sie gefüttert und bespasst hatten, durften wir auch schlafen gehen.

Busy, busy, busy

This friday it was shopping time in Mariahilf again. So we went there just after work and the first stop was myMuesli.

Afterwards we went to Planet Harry where I bought Roll of the Galaxy and the Spiel des Jahres (german game of the year) Codenames.

After that we went to Karlsplatz to the popfests and for tasting some icecream at the Emirates truck.

This was followed up by a wrap from the Wrapstars and then we went to Bobby's Foodstore.

Well packed with stuff we then went home and stored our loot. The cats were very interested in everything, especially if there was any sushi for them, which there wasn't this week again.

In the evening we just watched one episode of The Musketeers before we went to bed exhausted.

Am Freitag war wieder einkaufen in Mariahilf angesagt. Also gleich nach der Arbeit sind wir losgegangen und haben zunächst myMuesli heimgesucht.

Danach ging es zum Planet Harry wo ich mir Roll of the Galaxy und das Spiel des Jahres Codenames zugelegt habe.

Danach sind wir langsam Richtung Karlsplatz aufgebrochen, weil wir dort im Rahmes des popfests Eis beim Stand der Emirates gekostet haben.

Dann noch schnell einen Wrap bei den Wrapstars eingeworfen und dann ging es zum Bobby's Foodstore.

Gut bepackt sind wir dann nach Hause gefahren und haben unsere Schätze verstaut. Die Katzen waren natürlich auch schon wieder interessiert was wir mitbringen - und vor allem warum kein Sushi dabei ist.

Am Abend dann haben wir nur mehr eine Folge The Musketeers geschaut bevor wir erschöpft ins Bett gefallen sind.

This saturday I first made some dessert for sunday evening: lemon posset.

After that we continued with our preparations for our upcoming vacation and later that afternoon we went to a friend for a boardgame evening.

First up was Roll for the Galaxy - a dice game similar to the card game Race for the Galaxy. I really liked that game very much and I guess I'll get it for myself after our vacation.

Then we started eliminating monsters in Warhammer Quest: The Adventure Card Game, which we played three times - two of which ended very badly for us.

The conclusion of the boardgame evening was Tiny Epic Galaxies, but my dear was very good at this and wiped the floor with us.

Afterwards we could try out the new Oculus Rift of our friend and although we both liked it, I doubt that we will be getting one ourselves in the near future.

Am Samstag habe ich zunächst eine Nachspeise für Sonntag Abend gemacht: Lemon Posset.

Danach haben wir uns unseren Reisevorbereitungen gewidmet und später am Nachmittag sind wir dann zu einem Freund zum Brettspielen aufgebrochen.

Gespielt haben wir zunächst Roll for the Galaxy - ein Würfelspiel angelehnt an dem Kartenspiel Race for the Galaxy. Es hat mir sehr gut gefallen und ich werde es mir nach dem Urlaub vermutlich zulegen.

Danach ging es zu den Monsterhorden bei Warhammer Quest: The Adventure Card Game, was wir dreimal gespielt haben und dabei zweimal ordentlich verloren haben.

Zum Abschluss der Brettspiele haben wir dann noch Tiny Epic Galaxies gespielt, wobei uns hier mein Schatz ordentlich besiegt hat.

Danach durften wir noch die neue Oculus Rift von unserem Freund ausprobieren und obwohl es uns gut gefallen hat, glaube ich sagen zu dürfen, dass wir uns das Teil nicht so schnell zulegen werden.
