Some quick bake

Yesterday after work I went to my parents for dinner and got some tasty apple pancake.

After that I went home and baked a quick cake, with the cherries I got from my parents garden.

In the evening we then went onto the couch and watched BBC shows.

Gestern war ich nach der Arbeit bei meinen Eltern und habe köstliche Apfelpalatschinken bekommen.

Danach ging es nach Hause und dort habe ich dann - mit den Kirschen, die ich aus dem Garten meiner Eltern bekommen habe - noch schnell einen Kuchen gebacken.

Am Abend dann haben wir uns auf die Couch verzogen und auf BBC Serien geschaut.

Slightly ill

Yesterday we stayed home, since my dear got herself a cold. I played some Path of Exile, while she still had work to do for her studies.

In the evening we went onto the couch and watch tv shows before some of us went to bed and the rest kept staring out of the window.

Gestern sind wir am Abend zuhause geblieben, nachdem mein Schatz eine Verkühlung hatte. Daher wurde ein bisschen Path of Exile gespielt, während sie noch immer Sachen für die Uni zu erledigen hatte.

Am Abend dann ging es auf die Couch und wir haben uns Serien angeschaut bevor manche von uns schlafen gegangen sind und manche weiter aus dem Fenster geschaut haben.

Back on the Path again

On the last day of the longer weekend we could again sleep longer, as our cats were nice to us. After breakfast we cleaned the flat as in the afternoon it was the place for roleplaying.

While the roleplayers did their thing, I played some Path of Exile only interrupted by a bread & butter pudding I made.

In the evening we just went onto the couch for one episode before we went to bed.

Am letzten Tag des lange Wochenendes haben wir uns noch einmal ausgeschlafen. Die Katzen waren wieder gnädig zu uns. Nach dem Frühstück haben wir Hausarbeit gemacht, nachdem am Nachmittag bei uns eine Rollenspielsession stattgefunden hat.

Während die anderen Rollen gespielt haben, hab ich Path of Exile gespielt und dazwischen noch schnell einen Bread & Butter Pudding gemacht.

Am Abend dann ging es noch zu einer Folge auf die Couch bevor es ins Bett ging.

Still lazy on the weekend

This saturday we slept longer and after breakfast we went shopping on the farmer's market. Then we went to Sichaun for lunch.

Since my dear had some work to do for her studies, I did some chores and then baked something as well as creating some hazelnut icecream.

In the evening we went to watch the latest Doctor Who episode before we went to bed.

Am Samstag sind wir nach längerem Schlafen und Frühstück zum Markt einkaufen gegangen. Danach ging es zum Mittagessen ins Sichaun.

Nachdem mein Schatz viel für die Uni zu erledigen hatte, habe ich am Nachmittag Hausarbeit erledigt und habe dann noch etwas gebacken und ein Haselnusseis gemacht.

Am Abend ging es dann zur aktuellen Doctor Who Folge auf die Couch bevor wir schlafen gegangen sind.

This friday we left home early and went to EBI7 for lunch.

After that we went to Planet Harry for shopping and then back home, since my dear had a lot of work to do for here studies.

In the evening we went onto the couch for just one episode before we went to bed.

Am Freitag haben wir uns schon zu Mittag auf den Weg gemacht und waren im EBI7 zum Essen.

Danach ging es zum Planet Harry zum Einkaufen und dann wieder nach Hause, da mein Schatz noch Arbeit für die Uni zu erledigen hatte.

Am Abend ging es dann wieder zu einer Serienepisode auf die Couch bevor wir schlafen gegangen sind.

All I need is relaxing...

On thursday we didn't do much except relaxing and sleeping - a decision supported by our cats.

We played a bit Path of Exile but spent the rest of the day without a plan.

In the evening we watched some tv shows, to reduce the backlog from the previous week.

Am Donnerstag war außer relaxen und schlafen nichts geplant - was unseren Katzen sehr gut gefallen hat.

Wir haben Path of Exile gespielt und ansonsten den Tag genossen.

Am Abend gab es dann Serien, da konnten wir ein wenig aufholen vom Rest der Woche.

Finally some free time

On wednesday, after being home from work, I was more than happy to finally have four days off. Therefore we didn't do much except going onto the couch and watching some tv shwos.

Am Mittwoch, nach der Arbeit, war ich nur mehr froh zuhause zu sein und die nächsten vier Tage frei zu haben. Daher wurde auch nicht viel gemacht, sondern relativ bald auf die Couch gegangen und Serien geschaut.

The path to relaxations

Yesterday I was at my parents for dinner and got some tasty Grießschmarrn (semolina dessert) with a strawberry and kiwi salad.

Afterwards I went home and was greeted by the cats who insisted on their entertainment. After some time I then played a bit a of Path of Exile before we went onto the couch to watch tv shows.

Gestern war ich bei meinen Eltern zum Abendessen und es gab köstlichen Grießschmarrn mit Erdbeeren und Kiwi-Salat.

Danach ging es nach Hause wo die Katzen schon auf Bespassung gewartet haben. Nach einiger Zeit bin ich dann noch kurz nach Path of Exile gegangen und anschließend ging es auf die Couch wo wir wieder Serien geschaut haben.

Der Dienstag ist kantinentechnisch eine Niederlage. Deswegen sind wir zum Burgerista in der SCS gefahren.

Film Review: Alien Covenant

Yesterday we went to the moives again - this time to Donauplex with a visit to Burgerista for dinner - and we watched Alien Covenant.

The sequel to Prometheus tells the story of the crew of the colony ship Covenant, who are woken up from hiberation after an accident and then decide to deviate from their course and check out a nearby planet - which all sound awfully familiar.

After that we finally are told what happened after the end of the last movie and it not all what it seems to be ... and then the waiting for the final installment of the new Alien trilogy begins.

The story in the first half of the movie is so far-fetched, that once you reach the good part of the movie you don't really can enjoy it over all the plot holes that happened until then.

And also that James Franco is in the movie can be quickly overlooked, so the movie really burned a B-actor (literally) for no good reason at all. The rest of the cast is rather mediocre and the female lead always has the expression that you want to hold and hug her - and she's the one calling the shots! Only Michael Fassbender is a really cool actor who manages to capture the duality in playing the two androids David and Walter in a really disturbing way (and I mean that in a positive way).

Conclusion: take your brain out, accept the story - then this movie is good fun, otherwise you'll leave the movie theatre with a headache and too many unanswered questions

Gestern waren wir wieder im Kino - diesmal im Donauplex mit einem Besuch bei Burgerista davor - und haben uns Alien Covenant angesehen.

Die Nachfolgerfilm zu Prometheus erzählt zunächst die Handlung der Crew des Kolonieschiffes Covenant, die nach einem Unfall aus dem Tiefschlaf geweckt werden und dann den fatalen Fehler begehen vom Kurs abzuweichen um einen Planeten zu erforschen - kommt uns das bekannt vor?

Danach erfahren wir was nach dem Ende des letzten Films passiert ist und das nicht alles so zu sein scheint wie gedacht ... und dann geht das Warten auf den nächsten Film los, wo noch mehr erklärt werden wird.

Die Handlung im ersten Teil des Films ist leider so sehr an den Haaren herbeigezogen, dass man sich dann gar nicht mehr so sehr über die erklärende Handlung im zweiten Teil freuen kann. Ein bisschen mehr Logik und weniger Brecheisen wäre gut gewesen.

Dass James Franco auch in dem Film vorkommt kann man auch leicht übersehen, so wird halt einfach ein B-Promi umsonst verheizt (Achtung zweideutig!). Der Rest des Casts ist mittelmäßig, die weibliche Hauptrolle schaut mehr aus als würde sie jeden Moment in den Arm genommen und getröstet werden müssen - und sie trifft die Entscheidungen! Einzig Michael Fassbender ist ein cooler Darsteller, der die duale Rolle der beiden Androiden David und Walter extrem verstörend (im positiven Sinn) rüber bringt.

Fazit: Gehirn raus nehmen, Handlung akzeptieren - dann ist der Film gute Unterhaltung, ansonsten geht man mit mehr Fragen und Kopfweh aus dem Kinosaal

Sunday, without much work

Yesterday we relaxed a bit. Although my dear had some work to do for her studies, we make a small break by playing some Path of Exile.

In the evening we went onto the couch as usual for our tv shows.

Gestern haben wir uns ein wenig ausgerastet. Mein Schatz hat zwar noch Arbeit für die Uni zu erledigen gehabt, aber zwischendurch haben wir dann auch kurz Pause gemacht und Path of Exile gespielt.

Am Abend ging es dann wieder auf die Couch zu unseren Fernsehserien.

Boardgaming - especially Telestrations/Stille Post Extrem again

Yesterday it was boardgame afternoon at our place again and we started with some quick games.

First up was The Duke, which I played together with a friend since my dear was still preparing food and the other guests hadn't arrived yet. We played two quick games, but I think it was quite enjoyable.

After that we bought and sold real estate with For Sale. The game was quick and something of a casual play.

Then we went on to the main event of the afternoon - Terraforming Mars wasp played. Although my scientists were utterly useless this time, we all had blast playing the game.

Then we had dinner with some great pulled pork and after that we continued gaming with Tanz der Hornochsen! Playing number cards and avoid stepping into cow dung is the whole point of the game - not that entertainifn to be honest.

After that it became even stranger with Emotify - describing people, things and feelings with emojis and the rest of the team has to guess the thin was funny for about 10 minutes and will not be repeated any time soon.

We then had a lot of laughs in the end with several rounds of Relestrations and here are some of the highlights:

Gestern war wieder ein Brettspielnachmittag bei uns und wir haben mit kleineren Spielen begonnen.

Da war zunächst The Duke, was ich gemeinsam mit einem Freund gespielt habe, während mein Schatz noch das Essen vorbereitet hatte und die restlichen Gäste noch nicht eingetroffen waren. Zwei relativ schnelle Partien, aber ich glaube es hat durchaus gefallen.

Danach haben wir Häuser gekauft und verkauft in For Sale. Das Spiel ging auch recht schnell und ist eher etwas für casual play.

Danach sind wir dann zum Hauptevent des Nachmittag gekommen - Terraforming Mars wurde gespielt. Und obwohl meine Wissenschaftler diesmal keinen Durchbruch auf irgendeinem Gebiet erringen konnten, hatten wir alle viel Spaß dabei.

Danach gab es gutes Pulled Pork in Burgerform als Abendessen und dann ging es gleich weiter mit dem Tanz der Hornochsen! Möglichst zufällig Zahlen platzieren und nicht in den Kuhmist steigen ist die Anforderung an dieses Spiel - was wir nur mäßig interessant gefunden haben.

Dann wurde es noch eine Spur seltsamer als wir Emotify gespielt haben - Personen, Dinge und Gefühle mit Emojis ausdrücken und vom Team erraten lassen. Der Spielspaß hat ca. 10 Minuten gedauert und wird vermutlich keine Wiederholung finden.

Zum humoristischen Abschluss des Spielenachmittags haben wir dann wieder etliche Runden Stille Post Extrem gespielt und hier sind die Highlights davon:
