Baking bread (again)

Yesterday after work I did the chores at home with my dear. While doing that I also baked another soda bread according to Paul Hollywood's recipe and it went well again.

In the evening I looked into the bounty system of Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls and I hope that soon I will get some decent endgame loot.

The evening we spent watching the current episode of Celebrity MasterChef before it was entertainment time for the cats just before we went to bed.

Gestern nach der Arbeit habe ich mich zusammen mit meinem Schatz um den Haushalt gekümmert. Im Zuge dessen habe ich dann auch wieder ein Soda Bread nach Paul Hollywood gebacken und es ist wieder gelungen.

Am Abend habe ich mich dann intensiver mit dem Bounty System von Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls beschäftigt und hoffe jetzt in Kürze guten Endgame Loot zu finden.

Den Abend beschlossen haben wir dann mit der aktuellen Folge von Celebrity MasterChef bevor wir die Katzen bespasst haben und danach ins Bett gefallen sind.

Bread and War

Yesterday my dear was away with friends, so I tried to bake something. Since it worked out fine, I later admitted that I did in fact bake a bread. It was my first attempt at a soda bread by Paul Hollywood and we did a tasting of it and found it to be really good.

In the evening I played parts of the new content for Guild Wars 2 and later, when my dear was back, we watched an episode of Elementary.

Gestern ist mein Schatz am Abend aus gewesen, also habe ich etwas Gebacken. Und nachdem es mir gelungen ist, habe ich es nachher auch zugegeben. Es war der erste Versuch ein Soda Bread nach Paul Hollywood zu backen und es wurde bereits verkostet und für gut befunden.

Am Abend habe ich dann mit dem neuen Content von Guild Wars 2 gespielt und später, als mein Schatz wieder zurück war, dann haben wir uns noch eine Episode Elementary angeschaut.

Creative evening for the ladies

Yesterday I was at my parents' for dinner and I had good pancakes.

Back home the ladies started having their creative evening, while I started baking Paul Hollywood's custard tarts, which have been tasted by everyone afterwards and were liked very much.

In between I played with the cats and tried out some smaller games on Steam until the ladies had finished their part of the evening.

Afterwards we went onto the couch and watched an old episode of Would I Lie To You? and the 80s episode of Back in Time for Dinner on BBC.

Gestern war ich bei meinem Eltern zum Abendessen und es gab gute Palatschinken.

Wieder zuhause haben die Damen ihren Kreativabend gehabt, während ich Paul Hollywood's Custard Tarts gemacht habe, die dann auch sehr gut angekommen sind.

Dann habe ich mich noch mit den Katzen beschäftigt und ein paar kleinere Spiele auf Steam ausprobiert, bis die Damen mit ihrem Kreativabend fertig waren.

Danach haben wir uns dann auf die Couch begeben und uns eine alte Folge von Would I Lie To You? und die 80er Folge von Back in Time for Dinner auf BBC angeschaut.

Christmas is approaching

Yesterday we had our christmas party at work, so I came home later. After quickly doing the dailies in Guild Wars 2 we went onto the couch and watched the christmas special of The Great British Bake Off with Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood. I was still stuffed from the party but my dear was inspired by the programm to bake something really soon.

Gestern war Firmenweihnachtsfeier und da bin ich dann etwas später nach Hause gekommen. Nachdem ich schnell die Dailies in Guild Wars 2 gemacht hatte, sind wir auf die Couch gefallen und haben uns das Weihnachtsspecial von The Great British Bake Off mit Mary Berry und Paul Hollywood angeschaut. Ich war zu voll, aber mein Schatz hat daraufhin gleich wieder Appetit bekommen zu backen.

The weekly Viennese Bake Off

Yesterday I was at my parent's for ... yes, dinner and it was an Austrian speciality - Kaiserschmarrn.

Afterwards I packed some more of my paperback books, before heading home. On my way home I did some shopping for the weeekly baking session. When I came home the cats were very interested in the shopping bag. "What's inside that bag? Something for us we reckon!"

After a short stop at Guild Wars 2 I started baking because the cake needed to bake for almost 2 hours. It was a good idea to start early, because otherwise the cake might have been finished about nowish. The recipe was from the BBC, more to the point from Paul Hollywood - one of the judges of the The Great British Bake Off. It is/was a Piña colada Madeira cake and we will see how it tastes or is appriciated.

After that I went to Guild Wars 2 for the dailies before sitting on the couch with the cats and watching the latest episode of Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D..

"This mouse tastes funny, I think it has already expired!"

Gestern war ich bei meinen Eltern zum Abendessen und es gab eine köstliche österreichische Spezialität - Kaiserschmarrn.

Danach ging es ans Aufräumen und ich konnte wieder einige Bücher für den Abtransport bereit machen. Bevor ich nach Hause gekommen bin war ich noch schnell für das Backen einkaufen und wurde dann von neugierigen Katzen erwartet. "Was ist denn da in dem Sackerl drinnen?" war so der Grundtenor.

Nach einem kurzen Auftritt in Guild Wars 2 habe ich mich dann gleich ans Backen gemacht, weil dir Torte fast 2 Stunden gebacken werden musste. Gut, dass ich rechtzeitig angefangen habe, weil sonst wäre sie vielleicht erst jetzt fertig geworden. Das Rezept ist von der BBC genauer gesagt von Paul Hollywood - einem der Juroren von The Great British Bake Off. Es handelt sich um eine Piña colada Madeira Torte und man wird heute sehen wie gut sie geworden ist.

Danach war ich dann noch ein bisschen in Guild Wars 2 unterwegs die Dailies machen, bevor ich auf die Couch gefallen bin und mir die aktuelle Episode von Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. angeschaut habe.
