Last day of the year 2017

Yesterday we went grocery shopping for the upcoming days and in the afternoon we went to friends for a boardgaming afternoon.

We started with Dungeon Time, followed by Dice Forge and then we played two scenarios of Unlock!. In the end we played another game of Dice Forge but with a different set of cards, so the goals of the game had changed.

I think everyone was having fun and we all had a entertaining afternoon/evening.

After that we went home and just continued watching Star Trek Discovery with our japanese Lord.

Gestern waren wir noch für die nächsten Tage einkaufen und dann am Nachmittag sind wir zu Freunden zum Brettspielen gefahren.

Begonnen haben wir mit Dungeon Time, gefolgt von Dice Forge und dann haben wir zwei Szenarien von Unlock! gespielt. Ganz zum Schluss haben wir dann noch einmal Dice Forge gespielt, aber mit anderen Karten und somit anderen Zielen.

Alles in allem hatten wir alle viel Spaß und einen unterhaltsamen Nachmittag/Abend.

Danach ging es dann nach Hause und dort haben wir dann nur mehr Star Trek Discovery mit unserem japanischen Lord weitergeschaut.

Friday shopping

Yesterday we went shopping to Mariahilf as usual - although it was during our vacation. But first we went to Donauzetrum for a nice burger at Burgerista.

After that we started shopping right there before we went to Mariahilf and continued to shop there as well.

Afterwards we went home and divided our loot. Included in this was our price from a contest at Otto-Bauer-Gasse, where we won a basket full of tasty goods.

In the evening we watched the last episodes of the current season of MasterChef UK.

Gestern war - trotz Urlaub - der traditionelle Freitagseinkauf in Mariahilf dran. Doch zunächst sind wir zum Burgerista im Donauzentrum essen gefahren.

Danach folgte eine Einkaufssession im Donauzentrum bevor wir nach Mariahilf gefahren sind und dort gleich weiter eingekauft haben.

Danach ging es dann nach Hause und die Schätze wurden gesichtet. Dabei war auch der Preis von einem Gewinnspiel in der Otto-Bauer-Gasse, wo wir einen Delikatessenkorb gewonnen haben.

Am Abend dann standen die letzten Folgen der aktuellen Staffel von MasterChef UK auf dem Programm.

Boardgaming Deluxe

Yesterday a dear friend of ours visited - and even brought breakfast - for a long boardgaming day.

We started with the first scenario - again - of Gloomhaven and narrowly - again - didn't make it.

After that we played Mechs vs. Minions and were successful just on the last possible turn.

The conclusion of our boardgames were a lot of short games: Lovecraft Letter, Dungeon Time and Codenames.

After that our guest had to leave, but we continued to play on: Kampf gegen das Spiessertum, Dice Forge and EXIT: Das Spiel – Die verlassene Hütte.

While we were playing, our cats were clueless as to what to do - except for two attacks of Gandalf on our guest (sorry) - and just hid in the flat.

In the evening we went onto the couch and our japanese Lord wanted to watch Star Trek: Discovery.

Gestern hat uns ein lieber Freund besucht - und gleich auch Frühstück mitgebracht - und wir haben ausführlich Brettspiele gespielt.

Begonnen haben wir mit dem ersten Szenario - mal wieder - von Gloomhaven und haben es - mal wieder - knapp nicht geschafft.

Danach haben wir Mechs vs. Minions gespielt und sehr knapp gegen den Big Boss gewonnen.

Zum Abschluss haben wir dann kurze Spiele gespielt: Lovecraft Letter, Dungeon Time und Codenames.

Danach musst unser Gast leider schon aufbrechen, aber wir haben tapfer weiter gespielt: Kampf gegen das Spiessertum, Dice Forge und EXIT: Das Spiel – Die verlassene Hütte.

Während der ganzen Spieleorgie waren die Katzen relativ ratlos und haben - außer zwei kleiner Attacken von Gandalf an unserem Gast (sorry) - sich in der Wohnung zurückgezogen.

Am Abend dann ging es auf die Couch und wir haben unseren japanischen Lord Star Trek: Discovery - auf eigenen Wunsch! - vorgeführt.

Happy Birthday!

Yesterday it was my dear's birthday and like every year we went to my parents-in-law for the celebration.

Afterwards we went shopping and caught up with some things before we went onto the couch later that evening to watch tv shows.

Gestern hatte mein Schatz Geburtstag und da sind wir traditionellerweise wieder zu den Schwiegereltern zum Feiern gefahren.

Danach ging es dann noch zum Einkaufen und diverese Erledigungen machen, bevor wir am Abend auf die Couch zu Serien gefallen sind.

Boardgaming after chores

Yesterday we stayed home and did some of the weekly chores.

In the afternoon we started playing boardgames: first up was Dungeon Time, followed by a scenario of Unlock! and finally a longer game of Tiny Epic Quest.

After that we went onto the couch and watched some tv shows.

Gestern sind wir zuhause geblieben und haben uns zunächst um die Hausarbeit gekümmert.

Am Nachmittag haben wir dann mit Brettspielen begonnen: als erstes war Dungeon Time dran, gefolgt von einem Szenario Unlock! und schlussendlich dann eine längere Partie von Tiny Epic Quest.

Abschließend ging es dann auf die Couch wo wir uns wieder Serien angeschaut haben.

The usual after christmas activities

Yesterday noon we went out to lunch with my parents and my aunt and uncle.

After that we visited my parents house and there we got inspected by the neighbour's cat.

Back home we played a game of The Dragon & Flagon.

And in the evening we had Christmas pudding with custard and the Christmas episode of Doctor Who.

Gestern waren wir zu Mittag mit meinen Eltern und mit meiner Tante und meinem Onkel essen.

Danach haben wir sie noch im Haus besucht und dort hat uns die Nachbarskatze überrascht begutachtet.

Wieder zuhause haben wir dann eine Partie The Dragon & Flagon gespielt.

Und am Abend dann gab es Christmas Pudding mit Custard und der Weihnachtsfolge von Doctor Who.

For Christmas we went to my parents-in-law.

First up we had brunch with salmon.

After that the christmas tree was finshed decorating and then we had dinner with some deer ragout.

After that the presents were exchanged.

Zu Weihnachten waren wir bei meinen Schwiegereltern zum Essen und zur Bescherung.

Zunächst gab es einen Brunch mit Lachs.

Danach wurde der Baum fertig geschmückt und dann gab es das Abendessen in Form von Hirsch-Ragout.

Abschließend wurden dann die Geschenke verteilt.

Boardgaming has started

This saturday we went out for lunch to Sichuan, where our japanese Lord has set up his stomach and didn't eat as much as he wanted to.

In the afternon we started boardgaming with a friend and once my dear was back from decorating the christmas tree.

We played a lot: Potion Explosion, Lovecraft Letter, Port Royal, Codenames Duet and in the evening Mansion of Madness.

And finally, since it's the big day today: Merry Christmas!!!

Am Samstag waren wir zu Mittag bei Sichuan essen, wo sich unserer japanische Lord den Magen verdorben hat und dementsprechend nicht soviel essen konnte.

Am Nachmittag gab es dann Brettspielen mit einer Freundin und meinem Schatz, die vom Christbaumschmücken zurück gekommen ist.

Wir haben recht ausgiebig gespielt: Potion Explosion, Lovecraft Letter, Port Royal, Codenames Duett und dann am Abend Mansion of Madness.

Und zum heutigen Tag noch schnell: Frohe Weihnachten!!!!

Yesterday was the last working day before the christmas vacation and it went rather well.

In the afternoon we went to Mariahilf and did some shopping at Planet Harry and myMuesli, although I didn't buy anything this time.

In the evening we went onto the couch and watch BBC tv shows and enjoyed the start of the silent and relaxing time.

And since I forgot to post it yesterday, The Good Friends of Jackson Elias sent me some christmas greetings!

Gestern war der letzte Arbeitstag vor den Weihnachtsferien und der ist auch noch recht gut über die Bühne gegangen.

Am Nachmittag ging es dann nach Mariahilf und dort wurde beim Planet Harry und myMuesli eingekauft, allerdings nicht von mir.

Am Abend sind wir dann auf die Couch gefallen und haben uns BBC Serien angeschaut und den Beginn des Weihnachtsfriendens genossen.

Und weil ich es gestern vergessen habe, die Good Friends of Jackson Elias haben mir einen Weihnachtsgruß geschickt!

Party time

Yesterday we had our company's christmas party and there was a lot of food at the buffet.

Late at night I came back home - fortunately only a short distance to walk - and then went to bed rather soon.

Gestern war unsere Firmenweihnachtsfeier und da haben wir uns dann kräftig am Buffet bedient.

Spät am Abend bin ich dann nach Hause gekommen - zum Glück einfach nur ein kurzer Fußweg - und dann ging es auch schon bald ins Bett.

Mittagessen

Heute einmal nicht in der Kantine, sondern Würsteln vom Topf (dank Betriebsrätin).

The three faces of Cthulhu

Yesterday after work I went to my parents for dinner and got a lovely and tasty apple pancake.

After that I went home and out again shopping, since I needed some Zotter chocolate for my colleagues for Christmas.

After that I went home and listened to some podcasts - since I was all alone - while packing up the chocolates.

Also I received a package with the last prize the of Yog-Sothoth podcast raffle, which my minions guarded very well.

Later that evening my dear came back home and so we watched some tv shows until our japanese Lord also returned home.

Gestern ging es nach der Arbeit zu meinen Eltern, wo ich gute Apfel Palatschinken bekommen habe.

Danach ging es nach Hause und dann noch einmal zum Einkaufen, weil ich für meine Kollegen noch Zotter Schokoladen einkaufen gegangen bin.

Danach habe ich zuhause Podcasts gehört - nachdem ich alleine war - und habe die Schokoladen liebevoll verpackt.

Außerdem war ein weiterer Gewinn von Yog-Sothoth in der Post, den meine Helferlein gut bewacht haben.

Am späteren Abend, als mein Schatz wieder zuhause war, haben wir dann noch Fernsehserien auf der Couch geschaut, bis unser japanischer Lord auch nach Hause gekommen ist.
