Rainy surprise in the evening

Yesterday was again quite a good day at work, but shortly before closing time it started to rain and I came home rather soaked.

So I went to the shower and the then after that we spent the evening on the couch with tv shows as usual.

Gestern war wieder ein guter Tag in der Arbeit, aber kurz vor dem Heimgehen hat es zu regnen begonnen und ich bin dann etwas durchnässt zuhause angekommen.

Also schnell unter die Dusche und dann ging es zu den üblichen Fernsehserien auf die Couch.

More things are getting done

Yesterday I finally finished my registration with social services and the rest of the day was also rather successful at Planet Harry.

In the evening I went to my parents for dinner and got some tasty pancakes.

Later I went out with my dear and we dd a walk at the nearby Böhmische Prater, so our bodies were rather happy as well to be looked after.

The conclusion of the day was again sitting on the couch and watching tv shows - The Great British Bake Off is back!

Gestern habe ich endlich meine Anmeldung für die SVA abgeschlossen und auch sonst war es ein recht erfolgreicher Tag im Planet Harry.

Am Abend bin ich zu meinen Eltern gefahren und habe dort köstliche Palatschinken bekommen.

Später dann sind mein Schatz und ich noch im Böhmischen Prater einer Runde gegangen und haben so noch ein bisschen was für unsere Körper getan.

Abschluss des Tages wie immer das Schauen von Fernsehserien auf der Couch - The Great British Bake Off ist wieder da!

A new printer has arrived

Yesterday we got our new printer at Planet Harry and almost everything worked from the start. Now only my registration with social services remains for the completion of a successful first month.

Back home in the evening we went onto the couch to watch tv shows until we went to bed.

Gestern kam unser neuer Drucker ins Planet Harry und es hat fast alles auf Anhieb geklappt. Jetzt bleibt nur mehr die SVA Anmeldung übrig und alles für das erste Monat wäre damit erledigt.

Wieder zuhause am Abend gab es dann wieder Fernsehserien auf der Couch bis wir ins Bett gegangen sind.

Happy Anniversary

Yesterday was over day off and we did start working on our cruise presentation.

Since it was also our wedding anniversary, we had a nice dinner with sparkling wine and some nice food in the afternoon.

Later that evening we went onto the couch and watched some tv shows as usual.

Gestern war unser freier Tag und den haben wir zunächst damit verbracht die Kreuzfahrt Präsentation zu beginnen.

Da auch unser Hochzeitstag war, haben wir uns dann am Nachmittag ein gemütliches Essen mit Brötchen und Sekt kommen lassen.

Am späteren Abend ging es dann wieder vor die Leinwand und es wurden Fernsehserien geschaut.

The cruise presentation is coming along quite fine

This sunday we finished our chores and in the afternoon we sorted through our pictures from the last cruise, so that now it's possible to finish the presentation for our friends and families. So in the near future we weill start inviting people to watch the presentation with us. In the evening we have chosen a movie from the Netflix archive to watch and it was The Martian with Matt Damon - nice entertainment with some unnecessary complications.

Am Sonntag ging es weiter mit der Hausarbeit und dann am Nachmittag haben wir die Bilder der letzten Kreuzfahrt weiter aussortiert, sodass wie jetzt die Präsentation endlich machen können. In näherer Zukunft beginnen dann unsere Präsentationstermine. Am Abend haben wir dann aus der Netflix Filmkiste geschöpft und uns The Martian mit Matt Damon angeschaut - ganz nette Unterhaltung, mit etwas zuviel Komplikationen.

Time to relax (a bit)

We started the weekend by relaxing and doing some chores. Of course the cats also got their entertainment, which they insisted of getting anyway.

In the evening we went onto the couch and watched tv shows until we went to bed.

Wir haben das Wochenende mit ausruhen und Hausarbeit begonnen. Natürlich sind auch die Katzen nicht zu kurz gekommen, dafür haben sie schon selber gesorgt.

Am Abend haben wir dann wie üblich Fernsehserien geschaut bis es ins Bett ging.

Work week finished great

This friday was also a great day at work and additionally I seem to have fixed our internet upgrade problem and we get a visit from UPC soon - hopefully they know who to install a new line in our shop.

In the evening we went onto the couch as usual, this time at a much cooler temperature thanks to the recent rain.

Am Freitag war wieder ein sehr guter Tag in der Arbeit und zusätzlich dazu habe ich jetzt vermutlich unser Internet-Upgrade-Problem in den Griff bekommen und wir bekommen demnächst Besuch von UPC - hoffen wir einmal dass die wissen wie man eine neue Leitung legt.

Am Abend ging es dann wie üblich auf die Couch, endlich dank Abkühlung bei gemäßigter Temperatur.

Success at work

Yesterday was a quite successful day at work. I finally made progress with the tax office and I acquired a new printer for our shop. Also the creation of the item list in our cash register is going at a steady pace - I love it when a plan comes together!

In the evening we went onto the couch and watched tv show together as always.

Gestern war ein erfolgreicher Tag in der Arbeit. Ich konnte sowohl einen Erfolg beim Finanzamt verbuchen und uns einen neuen Drucker für das Lokal besorgen. Auch das Eintragen der Artikel in die Kassa geht voran - alles in allem geht alles nach Plan.

Am Abend bin ich dann mit meinem Schatz auf die Couch gefallen und wir haben wieder Fernsehserien geschaut.

The usual wednesday

Yesterday after work I went to my parents for dinner and got a tasty Kaiserschhmarrn.

After that I went back home to our cats and started cooling down the flat a bit.

Later we went onto the couch to watch tv shows as usual.

Gestern war ich nach der Arbeit bei meinen Eltern und habe einen guten Kaiserschmarrn zum Abendessen bekommen.

Danach ging es nach Hause zu den Katzen und dann wurde die Wohnung wieder etwas abgekühlt.

Später am Abend dann ging es auf die Couch und wir haben wieder Fernsehserien geschaut.

Back to work

Yesterday was rather exhausting day at work with some throwbacks. The upgrade of our internet access is on hold, since the new line could not be installed due to some problems with the tubes in the wall. I'm still waiting on feedback to get my new number for my tax statement and the SVA (social security) contacted me that I sent them the wrong application and now I have to fill out a 4 pages long questionnaire about my work and expected income.

In the evening the Massive Darkness group played at out place and I just needed to relax.

Gestern war wieder ein etwas anstrengender Arbeitstag mit Rückschlägen. Das Upgrade von unserem Internetanschluss lässt auf sich warten, weil die neue Leitung nicht gezogen werden kann. Weiters warte ich immer noch auf Rückmeldung damit ich meine Steuernummer beantragen kann und die SVA hat mich kontaktiert, dass ich den falschen Antrag ausgefüllt habe und jetzt muss ich noch einen Fragenbogen über 4 Seiten zu meiner neuen Tätigkeit ausfüllen.

Am Abend war dann die Massive Darkness Runde bei uns und ich habe mich etwas ausruhen können.

Back from the spa vacation

We are back from our spa vacation in Bad Blumau and here are some impressions from our stay.

On our way home we stopped at Zotter and bought some chocolate supply for ourselves. When we were back home the cats greeted us and were very happy - although my parents did a great job taking care of them.

In the evening it was couch time with some tv shows again before we went to bed exhausted.

Wir sind wieder von unserem Thermenurlaub aus Bad Blumau zurück und hier gibt es ein paar Impressionen.

Am Heimweg waren wir wieder beim Zotter groß einkaufen und die Katzen haben uns dann zuhause ausführlich begrüßt - auch wenn sie gut von meinen Eltern in unserer Abwesenheit versorgt wurden.

Am Abend ging es dann wieder auf die Couch ein paar Serien nachschauen bevor wir erschöpft ins Bett gegangen sind.

Yesterday was a very successful business day and that's why I was rather exhausted at the end of it.

Back home we just went onto the couch and watched some tv shows before we went to bed.

Today we start our second vacations this year - this time we are going to the spa resort Bad Blumau to relax. So the next few days there won't be any updates in the blog.

Gestern war ein sehr erfolgreicher Arbeitstag und dementsprechend erschöpft bin ich am Abend nach Hause gekommen.

Dann noch zuhause auf die Couch zu Fernsehserien bevor es ins Bett ging.

Heute startet dann der zweite Urlaub des Jahres - wir fahren in die Therme Bad Blumau zum relaxen. Daher wird es die nächsten Tage auch kein Update im Blog geben.

A monday to spend

Yesterday was our day off during the workweek and while my dear went to her parents I went to Mariahilf for some shopping and getting things done at Planet Harry.

In the afternoon we went grocery shopping together and in the evening we went onto the couch the watch some tv shows.

Gestern war unser freier Tag der Woche und so ist mein Schatz zu ihren Eltern gefahren und ich war in Mariahilf einkaufen und habe noch ein paar Sachen im Planet Harry erledigt.

Am Nachmittag waren wir dann gemeinsam einkaufen und am Abend ging es dann auf die Couch zu den Fernsehserien.

Boardgaming again

Yesterday we did another boardgame afternoon this weekend. An ex-colleague of mine with his lovely girlfriend paid us a visit and we played a lot of games: Azul, Star Trek: Catan, Takenoko, Skull King, Las Vegas and finally Lovecraft Letter.

After that many games we had to end the day and after they were gone we just went onto the couch for some tv shows.

Gestern hatten wir den zweiten Brettspielnachmittag des Wochenendes. Ein lieber Ex-Kollege von mir hat uns mit seiner ebenso netten Freundin besucht und wir haben die folgenden Spiele gespielt: Azul, Star Trek: Catan, Takenoko, Skull King, Las Vegas und zum Schluss Lovecraft Letter.

Nach diesen vielen Spielen war dann aber Schluss und nachdem sie gegangen waren sind wir noch auf die Couch zu Fernsehserien gefallen.

Boardgaming and meat

This saturday we went to a dear friend for barbecuing.

After that we started playing some boardgames: Straw, Die Heisse 6, Round the World and finallyTelestrations.

Before we went back home we all played a round of croquet gespielt.

Back home our cats waited for us and after we fed and entertained them we went onto the couch for some tv shows.

Am Samstag waren wir zu einer lieben Freundin zum Grillen eingeladen.

Danach haben wir dann wieder Brettspiele gespielt: Straw, Die Heisse 6, Round the World und schlussendlich Stille Post Extrem.

Bevor wir nach Hause gefahren sind haben wir dann alle noch eine Partie Krocket gespielt.

Zuhause haben uns die Katzen schon erwartet und nach der Fütterung und der Bespassung sind wir auf die Couch gefallen.

A great week is coming to a close

A great friday - both business-wise and from a a personal view - went and the weekend began.

In the evening we watched tv shows on the couch as usual.

Mit einem sehr guten Freitag - sowohl aus geschäftlicher als auch aus persönlicher Sicht - ging es dann ins Wochenende.

Am Abend war wieder couchen mit Fernsehserien angesagt.

LEGO minifigs

Yesterday was a normal but rather successful although very hot day at work. Therefor we had a deal for our customers, that they would get a free drink at a nearby restaurant if they showed them their recipe. And many of our customers loved the idea and got their drink.

When I came back home in the evening the first thing was to take a shower and then we watched our usual tv shows on the couch.

Since I also went to the LEGO store yesterday, I had to buy some of the new minifigs since they are all about Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts .

Gestern war wieder ein normaler und sehr erfolgreicher wenngleich auch extrem heißer Arbeitstag. Deswegen hatten wir im Geschäft eine Aktion, dass man mit unserem Kassabon ein gratis Getränk in einem nahe Restaurant bekommen konnte, was viele unserer Kunden genutzt haben.

Als ich am Abend nach Hause gekommen bin war ich gleich einmal duschen und dann ging es wie immer auf die Couch zu den Fernsehserien.

Nachdem ich gestern auch wieder beim LEGO Store eingefallen bin, die neueste Minifiguren Serie beinhaltet Harry Potter und Fantastic Beasts und da musste ich zuschlagen.

Something nice for dinner

Yesterday I left work early to go to my parents for dinner and I got some tasty apple pancake.

After that I went home and since I was home earlier than usual I did some chores and played with the cats before we went onto the couch to watch some tv shows.

Gestern bin ich etwas früher von der Arbeit gegangen und war traditionellerweise bei meinen Eltern zum Abendessen. Es gab wieder die köstlichen Apfelpalatschinken.

Danach ging es dann nach Hause und nachdem ich früher als sonst zuhause war habe ich dann Hausarbeit gemacht und mit den Katzen gespielt bis wir dann schlussendlich auf die Couch zu den Fernsehserien gefallen sind.

Bureaucracy all the way

Yesterday before I went to work I visited the local tax office. Unfortunately I didn't manage to get all things done, so I'll need to come back later.

After work I went home and then we only went onto the couch and watched some tv shows.

Gestern war ich vor der Arbeit beim Finanzamt. Leider habe ich nicht alles bekommen was ich wollte und jetzt ist ein neuerlicher Besuch fällig.

Nach der Arbeit bin ich nach Hause gefahren und dann sind wir relativ bald auf die Couch gefallen zu Fernsehserien.

Film Review: Mission: Impossible - Fallout

Yesterday we went to the movies with our usual clique and we watched the latest Tom Cruise film Mission: Impossible - Fallout.

The story is once again that the world is in danger, Mr. Cruise is the only one to help with that and he gets betrayed by the people he trusts and in the end the world is saved or not.

Well, this sounds like any other movie from the Mission: Impossible franchise. The difference is only in the locations and stunts.

This time though the story tried to tie in story elements from previous movies of the franchise and I have to admit I could not follow most of them - that's how memorable the previous movies actually were.

Conclusion: a lot of action, a broken ankle on Mr. Cruise's part and many logical errors - the perfect summary of a summer action blockbuster

Gestern waren wir wieder mit unserer üblichen Runde im Kino und haben uns den aktuellen Tom Cruise Film Mission: Impossible - Fallout angeschaut.

Die Prämisse ist einmal mehr, dass die Welt bedroht wird, Mr. Cruise als einziger helfen kann und von seinen Vorgesetzten hintergangen wird und vielleicht oder auch nicht die Welt rettet.

Soweit klingt die Story wie jeder andere bisherige Mission: Impossible Film. Der Unterschied sind lediglich die Schauplätze und gezeigten Stunts.

Diesmal wird in der Handlung allerdings auch auf andere Filme der Reihe referenziert und ich muss gestehen, dass ich da nicht mitgekommen bin - so gut sind mir die Stories aus den vorherigen Filmen im Gedächtnis geblieben.

Fazit: viel Action, ein gebrochener Knöchel beim Cruise und etliche Logikfehler - das Rezept für den Action-Sommer-Blockbuster

IT upgrade successfully installed

Yesterday I was at Planet Harry and improved upon the IT infrastructure. The only thing that didn't go as planned was a rebellious power outlet and after about 8 hours work everything was done and I was exhausted.

So in the evening it was once again just couch and tv shows for us and today I've got really sore muscles.

Gestern war ich im Planet Harry und habe mich um die IT Infrastruktur gekümmert. Bis auf eine sehr lästige Steckdose hat alles wie geplant geklappt und ich war nach den knapp 8 Stunden Arbeit sehr erschöpft.

Daher war am Abend nur mehr Couch und Fernsehserien angesagt und heute habe ich einen ordentlichen Muskelkater - und damit ist nicht der Bubu-Bär gemeint.

Vacation picture shuffle

This saurday we were lazy and stayed home to relax. We got up later and then just went grocery shopping.

Because of the high temperatures we stayed in our colder living room and in the evening started sorting through our pictures from the last vacation. So it's now only a matter of time before I can finish up a presentation and our first guests will be able to enjoy it.

Am Samstag waren wir faul und haben das beginnende Wochenende genossen. Wir sind später aufgestanden und waren dann einkaufen.

Wegen der starken Hitze sind wir dann im klimatisieren Wohnzimmer geblieben und später am Abend haben wir die erste Vorauswahl der Urlaubsbilder getroffen. Es ist jetzt nur mehr eine Frage der Zeit, bis die Präsentation fertig gestellt werden kann und die ersten Gäste dieser ausgesetzt werden können.

The first week is complete

This friday was the last working day of my first week and I did rather well.

In the evening it was couch surfing with my dear and some tv shows.

Am Freitag war für mich der letzte Arbeitstag der Woche und da ging es wieder wesentlich besser.

Am Abend dann wieder Couch surfen mit meinem Schatz und Fernsehserien.

Second day

Yesterday was my second day as entrepreneur, but it was shorter than the day before. The current weather situation got to me and so I had to go home early and lay down for quite a bit.

Later that evening we just watched one episode of a tv show before finally going to bed.

Gestern war der zweite Tag als Unternehmer, den ich aber nicht so lange durchgehalten habe. Das aktuelle Wetter hat mir zugesetzt und so bin ich schon früher nach Hause aufgebrochen und habe mich dort hinlegen müssen.

Am späteren Abend dann gab es wieder eine Folge einer Fernsehserie, bevor wir ins Bett gegangen sind.

The future has begun

Yesterday was my first work day as an self-employed entrepreneur and it was very successful but also rather stressful. Many customers of Planet Harry welcomed my very friendly and asked about our vacation month (the shop was closed the whole july). That how I like to start a new work!

In the evening I was too exhausted to do anything special so we went onto the couch after having dinner - we both are not quite over our illness yet.

Gestern war mein erster Arbeitstag als selbständiger Unternehmer und er war sehr erfolgreich aber auch anstrengend. Viele Kunden vom Planet Harry haben mich freundlich als Neuzugang begrüßt und sich nach unserem Urlaub erkundigt. So fängt man gerne eine neue Arbeit an!

Am Abend war ich allerdings so fertig, dass wir nach dem Abendessen gleich auf die Couch gefallen und dann auch schon bald schlafen gegangen sind - ganz gesund sind wir beide halt noch nicht.

Last day of the vacation

Yesterday was the last day of my vacation and at noon I went to my parents for lunch.

After that I went to Planet Harry and helped him a bit, since the grand reopening is today.

In the evening we just watched some tv shows, although we had a vacation break the tv shows also are on summer break at the moment, so not very much to watch anyway.

And today marks the beginning of my self-employment at Planet Harry - I'm really excited about it and hope my first day is a great one, considering that it's also the first day the shop will be open after a one month break.

Gestern war mein letzter Urlaubstag und ich war zu Mittag bei meinen Eltern zum Essen.

Danach bin ich noch zum Planet Harry gefahren und hab ein bisschen geholfen, da ab heute ja wieder geöffnet ist.

Am Abend haben wir wieder Fernsehserien geschaut, nachdem es die Sommerpause ist gibt es trotz Urlaub recht wenig zum Nachschauen.

Und heute beginnt das große Abenteuer Selbständigkeit beim Planet Harry - ich bin gespannt wie der erste Tag werden wird und wie viele Leute kommen werden zur Wiedereröffnung.
