More LEGO Dimensions minifigs incoming

Yesterday after work I went shopping again to buy some cheap LEGO Dimensions minifigs at Saturn.

Back home I started to assemble them - under the supervision of the cats - and added those figures to our collection.

In the evening we watched the current episode of Once Upon A Time and Mock The Week before it was time for bed.

Gestern war ich nach der Arbeit noch shoppen und habe günstig ein paar LEGO Dimensions Figuren beim Saturn erstanden.

Diese Figuren wurden dann auch gleich - unter der Aufsicht der Katzen - zusammen gebaut und in die Sammlung aufgenommen.

Am Abend haben wir uns dann die aktuelle Folge von Once Upon A Time und Mock The Week angeschaut, bevor es ins Bett ging.

Tiramisu!

Yesterday after work I went to my parents' for dinner and I got the birthday tiramisu.

After that I went home and then we went for a walk through Böhmischer Prater.

In the evening we played one level of LEGO Dimensions followed by watching two episodes of Mock The Week.

Gestern war ich nach der Arbeit bei meinen Eltern zum Abendessen und es gab das Geburtstags Tiramisu.

Danach ging es nach Hause und dann sind wir noch eine Runde im Böhmischen Prater spazieren gegangen.

Am Abend war dann ein Level bei LEGO Dimensions an der Reihe, gefolgt von zwei Episoden Mock The Week.

Mocking about

Yesterday after work I was at my parents' for dinner and I got the tasty apple pancakes.

Afterwards I went home and out to the post office and grocery shopping again. The cats also wanted to be entertained and then I finally got some time to look at the recent update to the Guild Wars 2 story line.

Later that evening we went onto the couch to watch one episode of Mock The Week before it was time for bed.

Gestern war ich nach der Arbeit bei meinen Eltern zum Abendessen und es gab die köstlichen Apfel-Palatschinken.

Danach ging es nach Hause und noch schnell zur Post und einkaufen. Die Katzen wollten dann auch bespasst werden, bevor ich mich ein bisschen mit dem aktuellen Update der Story Line bei Guild Wars 2 beschäftigt habe.

Am späteren Abend haben wir uns dann nur noch eine Folge Mock The Week angeschaut bevor es ins Bett ging.

Vikings!

Yesterday we went with a friend to Schallaburg for a viking exhibition. Since taking photos wasn't easy, there are very little pictures to post.

In the evening we then played Diablo 3 together followed by the most recent episodes of Mock The Week and Doctor Who on BBC.

Gestern sind wir mit einer Freundin zur Schallaburg und zur Wikinger Ausstellung gefahren. Leider war innerhalt der Ausstellung das Fotografieren nicht wirklich möglich, daher gibt es nur wenige Bilder.

Am Abend haben wir dann gemeinsam Diablo 3 gespielt und später dann noch die aktuellen Folgen von Mock The Week und Doctor Who auf BBC geschaut.

Hard rocking and shopping

Yesterday I went shopping to Mariahilf again. But before that we had lunch/dinner at Hard Rock Cafe.

At Planet Harry I only found myself the latest Call of Cthulhu adventure book from Pegasus.

Back home there was no sushi for the cats - but I think they didn't notice. In the evening we went on to watch the latest episodes of Dominion and Mock The Week.

Gestern war wieder Einkaufen in Mariahilf angesagt. Zuvor waren wir allerdings wieder im Hard Rock Cafe zum Mittag/Abendessen.

Beim lieben Planet Harry habe ich mir dann nicht wirklich etwas gefunden, außer dem aktuellen Call of Cthulhu Abenteuerband von Pegasus.

Wieder zuhause gab es diesmal keine Sushi für die Katzen - aber sie haben es auch nicht wirklich gemerkt. Als Abendunterhaltung hatten wir dann die aktuelle Folgen von Dominion und Mock The Week.

Medieval fair at Eggenburg

Yesterday we were at the medieval fair of Eggenburg. Although it was stressful to drive there and back again, and I got a massive sunburn on m head, it was nice to be back. But the next few years we'll skip this fair, because there are far too many people and it's poorly organized to get there.

In the evening we were too exhausted to do anything beside watching tv shows. So we watched the most recent episode of Mock The Week followed by an old episode of Elementary before we were off to bed.

Gestern waren wir beim Mittelalterfest in Eggenburg. Trotz Stress bei der Hin- und Rückfahrt bzw. dem Sonnenbrand den ich mir geholt habe, war es ganz nett. Allerdings werden wir die nächsten Jahre diesen Trubel wieder auslassen und nur zu den besser zugänglichen Events fahren.

Am Abend waren wir dann zu fertig um irgendetwas zu machen, also ging es auf die Couch. Dort war es dann aber auch nach einer Folge Mock The Week und Elementary aus und wir sind ins Bett gefallen.

Hot friday in the city

Yesterday we were - despite the extreme heat - shopping in Mariahilf. At Planet Harry - who is on vacation the next two weeks and because of that closed - we didn't find anything new for us. After that we went to restock my muesli supply for work at myMuesli.

Then we went for dinner and we decided to try Disco Volante again, but this time outside the restaurant, where it wasn't that crowded and loud like the last time we were there. The food was once again great and we enjoyed ourselves.

Back home we tried to cool down the flat a bit, since the cats were just lying around. Later that evening we watched this week's two episodes of Celebrity MasterChef on BBC, followed by Mock The Week and another lecture of Alien Worlds.

Gestern waren wir - trotz der extremen Hitze - in Mariahilf unterwegs. Beim Planet Harry - der ja jetzt für zwei Wochen Sommerurlaub macht und deswegen geschlossen ist - haben wir uns leider nichts gefunden. Danach ging es noch zu myMuesli, wo ich mir Nachschub für die Firma geholt habe.

Essen sind wir dann in die Disco Volante gegangen, wo wir diesmal im Freien gesessen sind und es nicht so stickig und laut war. Die Pizzen waren wieder sehr gut und wir waren zufrieden.

Wieder zuhause haben wir versucht die Wohnung etwas abzukühlen und so unsere Katzen zu entlasten, die nur flach gelegen sind. Am späteren Abend haben wir uns dann die zwei Folgen Celebrity MasterChef der Woche auf BBC angeschaut, zusammen mit Mock The Week und einer Vorlesungseinheit von Alien Worlds.

Baking and cooking all the way

Yesterday I did a lot of work, although we stayed home.

After breakfast I baked my well known soda bread.

After that we played some Diablo 3 on the computer before I started cooking out lunch: spaghetti carbonara.

After some relaxing sleep we continued the Guild War 2 beta in the afternoon, but didn't find anything new that would interest us.

In the evening I baked a strawberry pavolva, which we ate while watching BBC programs: Mock The Week and Edwardian Farm followed by the latest episode of Defiance.

Gestern war ein arbeitsreicher Tag, auch wenn wir zuhause geblieben sind.

Nach dem Frühstück habe ich einmal mein schon bekanntes Soda Bread gebacken.

Danach haben wir etwas Diablo 3 am Computer gespielt bevor ich dann unser Mittagessen gezaubert habe: Spaghetti Carbonara.

Nach einem Verdauungsnickerchen haben wir am Nachmittag noch einmal in die Guild War 2 Beta reingeschaut, aber viel besser haben wir es auch nicht gefunden.

Am Abend dann habe ich noch eine Erdbeer Pavlova gebacken, die wir zum BBC Abendprogramm gegessen haben: Mock The Week und Edwardian Farm bzw. die aktuelle Folge von Defiance.

Noch eine kleine Bekanntgabe in eigener Sache, ich werde demnächst (vermutlich in den nächsten Tagen) einen neuen Blog eröffnen, wo ich Rezepte und Bilderstrecken zu meinen Koch- und Backerfahrungen posten werde. Also bleibt dran...

Film review: Minions

After a longer break we went to the cinema yesterday to watch Minions.

The little yellow helpers are back and we are finally told the whole truth about them. Since the beginning of time they only had one goal: to find the evilest master of the time and be his henchmen. But almost every time this helping of them ended badly for the master so they had to continue looking for a new master.

Their latest victim target in the 60s was the female superstar Scarlet Overkill. When they finally managed to be her henchmen, their first task was to steal the crown of the Queen of England. But this was only the start...

The movie a solid entertainment and delivers at every possible age of the viewer. Some scenes - like the picture of the Beatles at Abbey Road - are not easily recognized by everyone, but there's enough humor in the movie to make you laugh all the time.

Conclusion: a definite must-watch movie, but don't forget to bring a banana, since it's possible that the minions will be coming and they are always hungry.


Later that evening, back home, we watched BBC: first there was the current episode of Mock The Week and two episodes of Horrible Histories. In the end we then watched also the most current episode of Defiance before we went to bed.

Nach längerer Pause waren wir gestern wieder im Kino und haben uns die Minions angeschaut.

Die kleinen gelben Helferlein sind zurück und diesmal erfahren wir die gesamte Vorgeschichte. Sie haben seit Anbeginn der Zeit nur ein Ziel gehabt: dem bösesten Meister der Zeit zu dienen. Doch das ist meist bald tödlich für besagten Meister ausgegangen - woran die Minions fast immer unabsichtlich Schuld hatten - und sie haben sie immer weiter gesucht.

Das letzte Opfer Ziel in den 60er Jahren war der weibliche Superstar Scarlet Overkill. Als sie es geschafft hatten ihre Gehilfen zu werden, war ihre erste Aufgabe die Krone der Königin von England zu stehlen. Doch damit hat das ganze Unheil erst so richig begonnen...

Der Film ist klassische Unterhaltung und bietet für jede Altersklasse etwas. Natürlich sind manche Anspielungen - wie z.B. das berühmte Bild der Beatles in der Abbey Road - nur für Kenner im Film versteckt, aber im Großen und Ganzen ist genug vorhanden um sich gut zu unterhalten.

Fazit: unbedingt anschauen und auf jeden Fall eine Banane mitnehmen, wer weiß wann/ob die Minions nicht vorbeikommen und Hunger haben.


Am späteren Abend, wieder zuhause, haben wir dann noch BBC geschaut: zunächst die aktuelle Folge von Mock The Week und zwei Folgen Horrible Histories. Zu guter Letzt haben wir dann auch noch die aktuelle Folge von Defiance geschaut, bevor es ins Bett ging.

Relax and bake

Yesterday we were allowed to sleep longer. After a good breakfast we went to the farmer's market to buy loads of fruit.

Fully packed we returned home and played Diablo 3 in the afternoon. Later we started to bake a red currant cake - a wish from my dear - and after it was finished we of course had to taste it.

In the evening it was BBC time again: Celebrity MasterChef and Mock The Week.

Gestern haben wir uns einmal länger ausgeschlafen bevor wir nach einem guten Frühstück zum Markt einkaufen gegangen sind.

Voll bepackt mit Obst sind wir wieder nach Hause gekommen und haben den Nachmittag mit Diablo 3 verbracht. Am Nachmittag habe wir dann einen Ribiselkuchen - eine Auftragsarbeit von meinem Schatz - gebacken und auch gleich verkostet.

Am Abend war dann wieder BBC dran, mit Celebrity MasterChef und Mock The Week.

Lazy sunday

Yesterday we were again allowed to sleep longer, but then we had to do the chores. After that we played a bit Diablo 3.

Later that afternoon we went to a summer party. But since there wasn't much food we then decided to test a new burger restaurant at the central station: Burger Bros. The burgers were good and the price about the level of Hard Rock Cafe, but it wasn't Burgermacher quality.

In the evening it was BBC time again: Celebrity MasterChef, Mary Berry and Mock The Week.

Auch gestern haben wir lange schlafen dürfen, aber dann stand Hausarbeit an. Danach haben wir weiter Diablo 3 gespielt.

Am späteren Nachmittag sind wir dann zu einem Sommerfest gegangen. Nachdem es dort aber fast nichts zu essen gab, sind wir dann am Heimweg beim Hauptbahnhof bei einem neuen Burgerlokal eingekehrt: Burger Bros. Die Burger waren gut und preislich beim Hard Rock Cafe angesiedelt. Burgermacher Qualität ist es allerdings nicht.

Am Abend dann haben wir zuhause auf BBC geschaut: Celebrity MasterChef, Mary Berry und Mock The Week.
