This was my birthday!

Yesterday was my birthday and so we spent a relaxed day. We wanted to do the weekly shopping trip, but this time we went to Donauzentrum to check out the cheapest LEGO Dimensions.

But first it was time for lunch at Burgerista for some nice burger.

After that we decided that Müller had the cheapest LEGO Dimensions and so we bought the latest sets that were interesting for us. For later that day we then stocked some donuts at Tasty Donuts.

In the evening it was our own private Oktoberfest with beer and weisswurst.

The conclusion of the day was that we played LEGO Dimensions until we were too tired to continue.

Gestern war mein Geburtstag und so haben wir den Tag gemütlich verbracht. Um die Einkaufstour nachzuholen sind wir diesmal ins Donauzentrum gefahren und haben dort nach günstigen LEGO Dimensions Ausschau gehalten.

Doch zunächst sind wir beim Burgerista auf einen guten Burger eingefallen.

Danach war der Müller das günstigste Geschäft für die neuen LEGO Dimensions Sets und da haben wir dann zugeschlagen. Als Verpflegung für den Abend haben wir uns dann noch bei den Tasty Donuts versorgt.

Am Abend gab es dann noch Weisswürstl und Bier - in einem kleinen privaten Oktoberfest.

Zum Abschluss des Tages haben wir dann noch LEGO Dimensions gespielt bis zum Umfallen.

Boardgaming all day (and night - almost)

This saturday there was another boardgame afternoon and this time it was at our place again. So we went grocery shopping in the morning to Hofer.

After that my dear started cooking and meanwhile I took charge to get some sweet stuff for the afternoon. So I went to the last remaining shop of Tasty Donuts across town.

On my way home I stopped at Alten Donau and quickly helped my dad with some electric stuff in the hut.

Then I went home and our guests were also arriving shortly after that.

The first game - after eating the donuts with some coffee - we played was Super Fantasy: Ugly Snouts Assault. We tried the fourth scenario and we failed miserably.

Afterwards we played Codenames - the german game of the year (Spiel des Jahres) 2016 - over and over again.

Then we had dinner and after that we showed our friends the cruise presention - hopefully they weren't bored by it.

When this was finished, we started playing again and the next game was Stich-Meister.

Afterwards some of our friends left and with the rest we played Codenames for another four times before we stopped the boardgame afternoon at 1:30 and they also went home.

Am Samstag hatten wir wieder einen Brettspielnachmittag und diesmal hat er bei uns stattgefunden. Daher sind wir in der Früh zunächst zum Hofer einkaufen gegangen.

Danach hat mein Schatz zum Kochen angefangen und ich habe für den süßen Teil des Nachmittags gesorgt. Ich bin dazu zur letzten noch verbliebenen Filiale von Tasty Donuts gefahren.

Auf dem Heimweg bin ich noch kurz bei der Alten Donau gewesen und habe kurz meinem Vater mit der Elektrik des Hause geholfen.

Danach ging es nach Hause und dann waren unsere Gäste auch schon bald da.

Als erstes Spiel - nach der Jause mit den Donuts - haben wir Super Fantasy: Ugly Snouts Assault - und zwar das vierte Szenario - gespielt. Diesmal ging es sich nicht aus und wir haben den Bösewicht nicht rechtzeitig erreicht und sind besiegt worden.

Danach haben wir Codenames - das Spiel des Jahres 2016 - gespielt und gespielt und gespielt.

Danach gab es Nachtmahl und anschließend haben wir unser Freund mit unserer Kreuzfahrt Präsentation überfallen - ok, sie haben sich nicht beschwert also wird es ihnen schon gefallen haben.

Nachdem wir damit fertig waren, ging es mit dem Spielen weiter und wir haben Stich-Meister gespielt.

Danach ist ein Teil unserer Gäste nach Hause gefahren und mit dem restlichen Teil haben wir dann noch weitere vier Mal Codenames gespielt, bevor der Brettspielnachmittag um 1:30 für beendet erklärt wurde.

Shopping spree

This friday after work I went to Mariahilf - as always. But this time around I was really busy. First stop was at Neuber's Enkel (a rather large chemist's shop), where I restocked some baking ingredients.

Next up was Brew Age to restock some craft beer.

Then I went to myMuesli to - yes of course - restock some muesli.

The next stop was for lunch at MySchnitzel with a rather big portion of schnitzel.

I then finally arrived at Planet Harry and stayed there a bit longer. The new games that needed to be bought were The Lord of the Rings: The Card Game – The Flame of the West and Mansions of Madness: Second Edition.

Well packed I was on my way again and went to Tasty Donuts for some tasty donuts for today, only to discover that this shop has closed down. So I went on to the Cornwall Pasty Pirates only to discover that this shop has closed down as well. So now two of my favorite shop on Mariahilferstrasse are gone now.

A bi shocked I went on to Lushm also for restock.

Then it was time to get some food for hungry cats and humans. Since it wasn't as hot as the days before, I decided that sushi was an option again and went to Temaya. Fortunately this shop was not closed down!

Really well packed I then went straight home and was greeted by the cats, who demanded their share of the fish immediately. Some time later, we were also allowed to eat our share.

In the evening I was quite exhausted, so we just went onto the couch and watched just one epispode of Elementary before going to bed.

Am Freitag bin ich nach der Arbeit wieder zu einer Einkaufstour nach Mariahilf aufgebrochen. Erster Stop war Neuber's Enkel, wo ich mir Nachschub zum Backen besorgt habe.

Dann ging es zu Brew Age um Nachschub an der Craft Bier Front mitzunehmen.

Weiter zu myMuesli um - richtig - Nachschub an der Muesli-Front zu kaufen.

Der nächste Stop war dann das Mittagessen bei MySchnitzel, wo es einen großen Schnitzelteller gab.

Dann endlich bin ich beim Planet Harry eingetroffen und habe dort etwas länger verweilt. An neuen Spielen mussten dann The Lord of the Rings: The Card Game – The Flame of the West und Mansions of Madness: Second Edition mitgenommen werden.

Einigermaßen gut bepackt bin ich dann weiter gegangen und wollte bei Tasty Donuts Donuts für heute mitnehmen nur um festzustellen, dass die Filiale in der Neubaugasse geschlossen wurde. Also bin ich dann zu den Cornwall Pasty Pirates weiter gegangen nur um festzustellen, dass auch dieses Geschäft geschlossen wurde. Damit sind zwei unserer Lieblingsgeschäfte nicht mehr vorhanden.

Ein wenig bedrückt bin ich dann noch zu Lush gegangen um auch hier Nachschub einzukaufen.

Und dann ging es daran noch Essen für die hungrigen Katzen und Menschen zu besorgen. Nachdem es nicht mehr so heiß war, dachte ich mir Sushi wären genau das Richtige und so bin ich zum Temaya gegangen. Und diesmal wurde ich nicht enttäuscht, das Geschäft gibt es noch!

Mit Sack und Pack wieder zuhause angekommen, haben die Katzen gleich ihren Anteil verlangt und bekommen. Etwas später haben wir dann auch essen dürfen.

Am Abend war ich dann zu fertig um noch etwas anderes zu tun und so sind wir dann auf die Couch zu einer Folge Elementary gefallen bevor es dann ins Bett ging.

A new trend on thurday?

Yesterday after work I went out again - amonst other things to unregister our former japanese guest from our address. But as it turns out you can only do this with a signed paper from the one unregistering, so I guess he'll have to do it himself or pay a fine if they ever find out.

Well "motivated" I went on to Mariahilf to shop, in the pouring rain. First I went to Tasty Donuts.

After that it was myMuesli and Planet Harry - to restock basically.

Then it was time to get real food, so I went to Natsu and Blutaumüller.

After that I was somewhat exhausted and tired and went back home. Arriving there I was greeted by our cats who demanded their tribut in the form of fish. After our furballs were satisfied, we were also allowed to eat our share of sushi.

Later that evening it was couch tim with BBC: The Great Interior Design Challenge, The Great Sport Relief Bake Off and Mary Berry's Foolproof Cooking.

Gestern war ich nach der Arbeit unterwegs - unter anderem unseren ehemaligen japanischen Gast aus unserer Wohnung abzumelden. Leider geht das nur mit Unterschrift des Beteiligten - wieso? - und daher wird er das wohl selber machen müssen oder dann Strafe zahlen wenn man ihm draufkommt.

Derart gut motiviert, bin ich dann nach Mariahilf weiter gegangen, wo ich in strömendem Regen einkaufen war. Zunächst ein Zwischenstop bei Tasty Donuts.

Danach zu myMuesli und Planet Harry - wo es in beiden Fällen galt Nachschub zu holen.

Dann war essen holen angesagt und so bin ich zum Natsu und zum Blutaumüller um Nahrung gegangen.

Danach war ich einigermaßen fertig und erschöpft und habe mich auf den Heimweg gemacht. Wieder zuhause durfte ich einmal den Katzen Tribut zollen und zwar in der Form von Fisch. Danach durften auch wir unsere Sushi essen.

Später dann ging es auf die Couch und wir waren auf BBC unterwegs: The Great Interior Design Challenge, The Great Sport Relief Bake Off und Mary Berry's Foolproof Cooking.

A typical fri... wait it was thursday still...

Yesterday I left work early because my dear and I had an appointment at MA11. After this meeting she went back to her course and I took the opportunity to sneak to Mariahilf for a quick shopping trip.

Since dear Planet Harry got a lot of good stuff this week, I went there to restock on the latest Star Trek Attack Wing products: two new wave, one OP Kit and the Weapon Zero single ship found a new home with me.

After that I went to Tasty Donuts for dessert for later.

Then it was time for Natsu and the weekly share of fish.

Back home we waited for my dear to come home before eating all the good fish.

Later that evening we watched tv series, one of each of Arrow, Agent Carter and Insert Name Here.

Gestern bin ich früher von der Arbeit gegangen, weil mein Schatz und ich noch einen Behördenweg bei der MA11 hatten. Nach diesem Termin ist sie wieder zu ihrem Kurs gefahren und ich habe mich noch schnell nach Mariahilf aufgemacht.

Nachdem der liebe Planet Harry wieder viel good stuff hatte, bin ich einen Tag zu früh schon in die Star Trek Attack Wing "Kiste" gefallen: zwei neue Waves, ein OP Kit und die neue Weapon Zero Großfigur haben einen neuen Besitzer gefunden.

Danach ging es zu Tasty Donuts, wo ich uns allen Nachspeise besorgt habe.

Und dann zum Natsu für die wöchentliche Fischportion.

Wieder zuhause haben wir dann auf meinen Schatz gewartet um gemeinsam zu Abend zu essen.

Am späteren Abend gab es dann wieder Serienspaß mit jeweils einer Folge Arrow, Agent Carter und Insert Name Here.

Friday's shopping

This friday we went to Mariahilf after work, where we got ourselves some schnitzels at mySchnitzel.

After that we went onto shopping at Planet Harry (7 Wonders Duel and Imperial Settlers: Atlanteans) followed by a stop at myMuesli where we finally got the three christmas flavored N'oats (porridge).

Then we picked up our japanese from his language course and then we got his tickets for a concert in May. Afterwards it was time to pick up some food at Tasty Donuts, Natsu and Blutaumüller before we finally went back home.

The sushi were very well received back home and quickly eaten by everyone.

In the evening we watched some tv series before we all went to bed tired.

Am Freitag ging es nach der Arbeit nach Mariahilf, wo es zu Mittag einmal ein Schitzel bei mySchnitzel gab.

Danach haben wir den Planet Harry geplündert (7 Wonders Duel und Imperial Settlers: Atlanteans) und anschließend ging es zu myMuesli wo es endlich die drei Weihnachtssorten N'oats (Porridge) gab.

Dann haben wir unseren Japaner vom Sprachkurs und mit ihm Tickets für ein Konzert im Mai abgeholt. Danach ging es zum Essenfassen bei Tasty Donuts, Natsu und Blutaumüller bevor wir uns auf den Heimweg gemacht haben.

Die Sushi wurden zuhause von allen gut geheißen und auch dementsprechend schnell verzehrt.

Am Abend dann gab es ein paar Serien bevor wir alle müde ins Bett gefallen sind.

Friday's shopping spree

On friday after work I went to Mariahilf. First I picked up our japanese guest from his german lessons and then we went to myMuesli and Planet Harry for shopping. This time I bought the Brettspiel Adventskalender 2015 and I'm curious what will be in there.

On out way home we picked up food from Tasty Donuts, the Cornwall Pasty Pirates and from Natsu.

Back home we ate the sushi, which especially the cats were already waiting for.

The evening I spent in Guild Wars 2, while my dear was at the opera with her mother.

Am Freitag nach der Arbeit ist es wieder einmal nach Mariahilf gegangen. Zunächst habe ich unseren japanischen Gast vom Sprachkurs abgeholt und dann sind wir zu myMuesli und zum Planet Harry einkaufen gegangen. Diesmal mitgenommen habe ich den Brettspiel Adventskalender 2015 und bin schon gespannt was alles drinnen sein wird.

Am Heimweg haben wir dann nach Essen bei Tasty Donuts, den Cornwall Pasty Pirates und beim Natsu mitgenommen.

Zuhause gab es dann gleich die Sushi, worauuf sich vor allem die Katzen schon sehr gefreut hatten.

Als Abendunterhaltung war ich in Guild Wars 2 unterwegs, während mein Schatz in der Oper war.

Friday in Vienna

This friday I went home after work to have lunch. After that we went on to our weekly shopping experience to Mariahilf. Our stops were mymuesli, Planet Harry, Tasty Donuts, Cornwall Pasty Pirates and Natsu. After that I went home while my dear went to her roleplaying session.

Back home I was welcomed by two hungry cats, who wanted to be fed immediately with fish. After that was done I too was allowed to eat my portion.

In the evening I first played a bit of Guild Wars 2 and then watched some episodes of series my dearie doesn't want to see.

Am Freitag ging es nach der Arbeit zum Mittagessen nach Hause. Danach sind wir dann Richtung Mariahilf aufgebrochen und waren ein wenig shoppen. Die Stationen waren mymuesli, Planet Harry, Tasty Donuts, Cornwall Pasty Pirates und Natsu. Ich bin dann wieder nach Hause gefahren während mein Schatz zu ihrer Rollenspielrunde gefahren ist.

Zuhause wurde ich schon von hungrigen Katzen empfangen und die wurden sogleich mit gutem Fisch gefüttert, bevor ich auch selber etwas essen durfte.

Die Abendgestaltung war zunächst ein wenig in Guild Wars 2 unterwegs sein und dann ein paar Serien Episoden schauen, die mein Schatz nicht sehen will.

Fridays are the best

Yesterday was again Friday and that meant it was time for shopping. But it was also still my vacation, so after a lovely breakfast and doing the dailies in Guild Wars 2 I went to my parents for lunch. This time around it was very tasty Gundel pan cakes (chocolate and nuts).

After that I went on to Mariahilf and actually started shopping. First at myMuesli - sale on the Christmas special mueslis - and then to Tasty Donuts - thought food for the Planet Harry team. At Planet Harry we had our weekly discussion round about important issues - ok, well it was mostly games again.

Of course I didn't manage to leave without buying something and so I picked a games we then tested and played that very evening.

On my way home the food part of the shopping trip started to beging with pasties at the Cornwall Pasty Pirates, sushi at Natsu and sweet stuff for breakfast at Blutaumüller.

Meanwehile the weather decided to turn from bad to worst and so I hurried back home as slow as the public traffic could take me.

Back at home sweet home I was greeted by the cats - who somehow found out that it was actually Friday. In any case the food was served a bit later anyways and when it was served there was joy in the eyes of our cats. And then we were allowed to eat as well - what a nice move from the four paws.

Then I started reading the rules and later playing the new game: Tash-Kalar: Arena of Legends.

In this game you need to placed your pieces in a tactical way - not unlike Go. But to score points you need to fulfill changing goals which give you the necessary points to win. Although we only played the basic version of the game it was much fun and I think we will play another game with all the rules very soon.

After that I went to South Park and played the adventure game for a bit. But soon thereafter we went onto to couch and first played some Gauntlet and then helped Lara Croft in the temple of Osiris.

The conclusion of the day was an episode of James May's Toy Stories before we fed the cats on last time before going to bed.

Gestern war wieder einmal Freitag und das bedeutet Einkaufszeit. Doch gestern war auch immer noch mein Urlaub also bin ich zunächst nach dem Frühstück und einer Runde Dailies in Guild Wars 2 zu meinen Eltern zum Mittagessen gefahren. Dort gab es köstliche Gundelpalatschinken.

Anschließend bin ich dann nach Mariahilf gegangen und habe angefangen einzukaufen. Zunächst bei myMuesli - Abverkauf der Weihnachtsmueslis - und dann bei Tasty Donuts - unter anderem Donuts für das Planet Harry Team. Beim Planet Harry schließlich gab es die wöchentlich geistig hochtrabenden Gespräche zu allem und jedem - ok, sagen wir es wie es war: zu Spielen.

Natürlich habe ich es nicht geschafft ohne etwas zu kaufen das Geschäft zu verlassen und so habe ich gleich auch ein Spiel mitgenommen, welches dann am Abend gleich getestet wurde.

Auf dem Heimweg gab es dann wieder Nahrungsmitteln zum Einkaufen und so wurden Pasties bei den Cornwall Pasty Pirates, Sushi beim Natsu und Süßes beim Blutaumüller erstanden.

Das Wetter hatte mittlerweile die Grenze von Unfreundlich überschritten und so habe ich mich bemüht rasch wieder nach Hause zu kommen, was mit nach einiger Zeit in den öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln auch gelungen ist.

Im trauten Heim angekommen wurde ich von den Katzen begrüßt - ob die wohl auch gewusst haben, dass Freitag war? Auf jeden Fall gab es dann etwas später erst das Abendessen in Fischform und dann gab es kein Halten mehr für die wuscheligen Vierpfoter. Etwas später durften wir dann auch unsere Portionen zu uns nehmen und alles war gut.

Dann ging es ans Regeln lesen und schließlich auch spielen von Tash-Kalar: Arena of Legends.

Bei diesem Spiel handelt es sich um ein taktisches Legespiel, nicht unähnlich Go. Allerdings muss man nicht versuchen seinen Gegner zu umkreisen, sondern bestimmte - sich ändernde - Zielkarten zu erfüllen um so Punkte zu machen. Obwohl wir nur die Basisversion gespielt haben, hat es uns recht gut gefallen und wir werden demnächst wohl die echte Version ausprobieren.

Danach habe ich dann etwas weiter in South Park reingeschaut und das Abenteuerspiel aus Steam weiter gespielt. Doch alsbald hat es uns dann auf die Couch gezogen, wo wir zuerst ein wenig in Gauntlet herumgelaufen sind und dann schließlich Lara Croft im Tempel von Osiris geholfen haben.

Den Abschluss des Tages hat dann aber eine Folge von James May's Toy Stories gemacht bevor wir die Katzen gefüttert haben und ins Bett gefallen sind.
