Friday in Vienna

This friday I went home after work to have lunch. After that we went on to our weekly shopping experience to Mariahilf. Our stops were mymuesli, Planet Harry, Tasty Donuts, Cornwall Pasty Pirates and Natsu. After that I went home while my dear went to her roleplaying session.

Back home I was welcomed by two hungry cats, who wanted to be fed immediately with fish. After that was done I too was allowed to eat my portion.

In the evening I first played a bit of Guild Wars 2 and then watched some episodes of series my dearie doesn't want to see.

More Bake Off

Yesterday we continued our adventures in The Secret World. Interrupted only by some playful cats and the chores that needed to be done, but in the end everything went smooth.

The evening entertainment consisted of baking - The Great Comic Relief Bake Off - and comic serieses - Arrow - before we were allowed to go to bed, after another play session with the cats.

The Great Bake Off

Yesterday it was baking time again and I decided to do a simple brownie recipe. For that reason I first went shopping and afterwards entertained the cats so that I could bake without interruptions.

After that my dear and myself went again to The Secret World before we went onto the couch to watch yet again something new, a celebrity version the Bake Off - The Great Comic Relief Bake Off - followed by the last episode of season 1 of Marvel's Agent Carter.

The Big Painting Challenge

Yesterday I was at my parents' for dinner and it was a delicious Apfelstrudel.

Back home again I first did some work on the Raspberry Pi 2 before entertaining the cats. After that my dear and myself went to The Secret World and we visited a haunted fair there.

Then it was couch-time again and my dear found a new BBC tv series we started watching: The Big Painting Challenge. After watching this series we then went on to the most recent episode of Sleepy Hollow before going to bed finally.

After Oscars party

Since we stayed up early yesterday, we then slept until noon before we had breakfast. After that we decided to watch - the for me biggest winner at the Oscars - The Grand Budapest Hotel once again on our big screen, before our dear friend went home.

In the evening we went back to The Secret World before we concluded the day on the couch with twoe old episodes of Top Gear.

87th Academy Award - results

The Oscars are over and it's time to see how my predictions have turned out and it's not too bad: 18 out of 24 category correctly named. Which means I have to try harder for next or perhaps go more to the cinemas.

Sick, but getting better

I'm still sick, but the fever is gone fortunately and I received my shipment of the new Raspberry Pi 2, which I now will start playing around with.

Donnerstag, 19. Februar 2015

Still, well you know

The back pains is gone - thanks to a hot-water bottle - and the fever has been lowered, but now I sound more like a bass bear and I cough very much.

Mittwoch, 18. Februar 2015

As if being sick wasn't bad enough

Still sick, but with the added bonus of a hurting back because of spending such time in bed.

Dienstag, 17. Februar 2015

Still sick

Still ill...

Due to me being ill there's no blog entry today.

Workout day

Yesterday I was with my dear for some physical workout after work. It wasn't bad and I have no sore muscels today, so we'll be doing this every second week from now on.

On out way home we stopped to take away some spanish/portuguese(?) snacks, which we ate at home.

After the usual dailies in Guild Wars 2 we went onto the couch and watched two episodes of Forever followed by one episode of The Big Bang Theory.

Mittagessen

Und hier ist auch schon der Burgertag.

Farmerburger (mit Schweinefleisch) dazu Chillidip and Steakkartoffel

Quite evening at home

Yesterday I was at my parents' for the weekly dinner and some nice pancakes.

After that I went home and at first entertained the cats and afterwards did the dailies and festival activities in Guild Wars 2.

Then I watched some episodes of Gotham, since my dear doesn't want to watch that and she was with a friend this evening.

The conclusion of the evening was an episode of Marvel's Agent Carter we watched together.

Mittagessen

Ein Schnitzel am Mittwoch - der Klassiker.

Gebackenes Putenschnitzel mit Beilage nach Wahl

Business as usual

Yesterday was the first day back at work after our guests have left us. When I came home after work I was quite exhausted, so after a quick dinner I took a nap. Only after a short period of time the cats circled me and then joined me in my nap until I got up again and then wanted to be entertained.

After that I wanted to do my dailies in Guild Wars 2, but was surprised by the Lunar New Year update and so spent some more time checking this festival out.

The conclusion of the evening was the traditionally sitting on the couch and watched television series, before going to bed. This time it was the latest episodes of The Mysteries of Laura and Top Gear.

Film review: Jupiter Ascending

Since it was our last day together with our guests, we spent the morning playing one last game - Lords of Waterdeep - before we drove them safely to the airport in a very ugly snowstorm. In the meantime they have arrived at home in one piece.

Since it was also our monday we usual spend at the movies and there was one in particular we wanted to see we went straight the Milleniumtower after going to the airport to watch Jupiter Ascending.

Jupiter is a poor young woman with russian parents, who cleans other people's houses together with her family. But onw day everything changes as aliens try to threaten and kill her, but she is being rescued by yet another alien. After that nothing is the same anymore and she's going on adventures which might cost her her life.

Well the story isn't very original - it's basically Cinderella in space. The images are quite nice to look at, but they don't improve the movie that much that you can say it's worth watching and the actors aren't very talented either.

Conclusion: the movie is a kind of science fiction fairy tale - thankfully withour songs - but that's about it really. Too often the classical elements of a drama are used - like the last second rescue for example - so that this movie isn't very plausible at all. Well it's a popcorn movie with very little brain activity needed - so if you like that you might try your luck with that movie.

More tourist stuff

The sunday was the day before our guests were leaving again so we decided to be tourists just one more time - this time it was the Heeresgeschichtlichen Museum.

Since we took longer than we planned we then had no more time for the other stops and returned home to play more board games: Fünf Gurken and The Legend of Drizzt Boardgame.
